The hotels requires an audit of rooms. One room smelt of fish, the next room smelt of paint fumes. To top this off, my room key is given to another guest who enters my room. I have stayed here many times and it has been tremendous, but this stay and follow up was really poor.

Ok positive first the hotel is a great location for the city thats it, when you check in you say wow this must be awesome as they have spent millions on the check in foyer etc but when you get to the room its like going back 30years, very tired and instead of making the entrance flashy how about fixing the rooms, breakfast was $42 each for full buffet breakfast and definitely wasn’t worth that very basic, also thought $50 per day to park your car for guests was pretty steep as well anyway will not stay here again as there rooms a too old

Leaves you feeling unwelcome- Wouldn’t return

Check in staff bordering on rude, insisting on payment now, which although I should not have had to pay until after, I was happy to pay now-all I asked was that I pay for everything at once. I’m happy to pay now for the hotel and the car parking or I will pay at check out for the hotel and car parking. She reluctantly agreed to charge me for both now, as she was certainly not going to let me pay for the room at check out. She said she was charging me for both, didn’t tell me the amount that she was charging me for and when we went up to our room and looked at the card charge realised that she had not charged us for the car parking. Which appeared to be intentional as for whatever reason, she did not want me to pay for that until check out but I had to pay for my room at check-in. Very unprofessional. No mention of ACCOR status (I’m nothing special but as a gold member something is generally mentioned). It was a late booking so I didn’t receive any welcome gift etc, (which is understandable). No hotel information provided by check in staff. Check in was abrupt and unprofessional (it was not a busy). Upon check out when paying my car payment that I should have already been charged for-I did mention that I was unhappy with check in as I had requested to pay everything at once and check in staff had told me that was what I was paying at the time. Check out staff were ok, but they weren’t unimpressed when I mentioned that I wasn’t happy with check in and they were obviously not interested in following that up. On a positive note, the Valets were excellent! Very professional, friendly and efficient. Unfortunately due to feeling unwelcome at the hotel, and having had a similar (worse) experience when I was staying at the Pullman side (the same reception for both hotels), I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

A decent hotel with all services available. The building and rooms are pretty old however same is comfortable. Room had a terrible view which was sad as had stayed for 6 nights and some other views would have been great. Decent breakfast but same offered everyday with no changes to any one dish whatsoever. The serving area is quite small and become crowded in busy time. The coffee machine area is super busy. The roof top bar is an amazing and must visit. Overall a good hotel for location which is near to queen street mall and king George square.
