As an Accor member this was the worst room ever. Stayed here previously and have enjoyed. The place was filthy. Stains huge on sheets, mould all over shower and curtain, spiders webs. It was unexceptionable really, I wonder what Accor would think? Will make me re think my membership. No welcome gift. 1 bottle of water for 2 days. Boiler house was the savor of this trip. I have photos to prove.

Brilliant get away so near but yet so far

we took the opportunity to "run away" for two days to this hotel. It is close to Sydney but it feels a million miles away from anywhere given its bush setting. We stayed in a deluxe suite ( having been upgraded from a Heritage Suite). Very pleasant stay. We did have couple of glitches but these were dealt with efficiently by the staff on site and our feedback was taken on check out. Bed was comfortable. Room well appointed and the long shared balcony provided the right place to sit and watch the water and get to know the resident bush turkeys. It is the sort of place you need to be prepared to walk to see the full site but there is a bus service that will take you to and from the beach or restaurant. the hotel was not up to its full occupancy and not all amenities are available due to COVID but we would certainly consider returning. We swam and snorkelled from the private beach. We chose not to leave the hotel area for the two days but it is not far to Manly for those who want to venture further afield. The Bolier house restaurant offered a good menu - prices reflected hotel prices the world over- a little higher than an outside restaurant for dinner but on par for breakfast. Food was good.

Fantastic location for a romantic weekend away with that special person. The Boiler room restaurant was just brilliant and the food was excellent with great service from the wait staff. All ready planning our next visit.

A Lovely Stay

We stayed at the Q-Station over the VDay weekend. It was a very peaceful and relaxing setting providing great walks and a private beach. Staff were very helpful at all times and we had an excellent time. I was a little surprised at the lack of Aircon - I am sure it was mentioned, but didn't note it. Thankfully the temperatures were mild, so the fans sufficed. We have stayed here before and probably will stay here again.

This was our 5th stay at the hotel, an amazing place to stay, fantastic views of the harbour from our room, the staff are pleasant to deal with. Breakfast was expensive $30 each person per day, no Accor discount the food was cold and uninviting. The boiler house restaurant does not serve breakfast, maybe it should? Their food is of a high standard, they need to increase their menu, maybe add some junk food like burgers inside the restaurant not in the casual dining area?

Q Station is a favourite, does not take too long to get to, once there you have a beach, cafe, bar and restaurant and views over Sydney Harbour. If you need to leave Q Station you can walk into Manly or just catch the bus which is just outside the main gates

The rooms were great, plenty of space to move and the verandah overlooking Sydney Harbour is perfect to sit around with friends. We had a group of 16 and all fitted comfortably on the verandah for afternoon drinks. The walks are great and the ghost tour is a must. All the staff were so friendly and could not have been more helpful. The food from the Boilerhouse restaurant and the Engine Room bar was great. Very impressed with the young man who served 16 of us for breakfast. Sorry i didn’t get his name.

This is a very unique property located right on Sydney Harbour. The views from the property are amazing both during the day and night. The rooms are simple but clean. Quarantine beach is perfect for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. The property holds some very interesting history, if you wish to do one of the history or ghost tours I would highly recommend pre-booking these especially during weekends and school holidays however you can easily wander around the buildings and visit the museum without a tour, at no charge. There are not many meal options (venues) however Manly is close by if need be. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I wish we had stayed a little longer.

We had to change rooms due to a toilet that did not work- this should have been checked before we were given the room. for our inconvenience we were given a cheap bottle of wine which we could not drink. The rooms have no privacy as people walk past them all the time and children run up and down the corridors. The views are great but the restaurant has no views

This is a very special spot. You need to be ready to stay in a quirky accommodation arrangement but definitely adequate. The site has a very interesting past and is located on spectacular North Head at Manly, that's what makes it truly special. Loved it would go back.

Amazing Beach, poor service

We stayed at Q Station as a family. Most of the staff members seemed to have little or no customer service skills. There was zero consideration for the fact that we were travelling with young children, this is not a young family friendly place to stay. Staff would barely say hello if you saw them, they didn’t open doors when you arrive/depart carrying heavy luggage and babies, and they acted like it was an imposition when asked anything (basic stuff). Usually I don’t care about this type of thing, however there were so many instances when the staff were really rude it became a running joke in my family. One night the wind blew a railing off a balcony outside our room, it was very dangerous, exposing a long drop to the ground below. I called to tell the staff about this, there was no sense of urgency, no thank you or apology, we waited in our room for an hour because it was unsafe to let my toddler out there. The staff barely engaged with us about what had happened. Clearly customer service is zero priority to this place.

Obviously we cant stop a storm, but we should have endeavored to make your family feel safe while making the repairs as quickly as possible. We enjoyed the unique location at Sydney's North Head. The bus travel between reception and our room was quick and entertaining. The special deal breakfasts were absolutely magnificent. We also appreciated the surprise gift of a bottle of wine on Christmas day. Totally unexpected was the visit of a native bandicoot one evening. Thank you QStation!

Had a fantastic mini family holiday at Q Station. It was not a busy time of the year so very relaxing and chilled. Beach is so calm and clean and walking to dinner at the Boilerhouse, we came across rabbits and a possum. The rooms were charming. Main bed was great however the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and could use a memory foam topper. Service was generally ok. We did have a bit of trouble getting someone on the phone to call a shuttle bus as nobody answered. We were also told breakfast was not included with our room and i had to retrieve the original email confirmation showing breakfast was included in our deal booked directly with Accor. Thank you for a terrific stay!

Didn't live up to expectations

This was a huge disappointment. We booked a deluxe suite. The description and pictures implied something quite different. It was confirmed as a spacious suite, it was not my idea of spacious. It was pokey, dark and brown and the only windows were the windows on the French doors. So not much natural light. It was a small lounge area, no lamps in that area, unlike even most hotel rooms. The coffee table had stains on the wood. This led onto a bedroom with a queen bed, it was not a spacious bedroom, there was only room for the bed and luggage. It is good to note that you can't open windows, as there are no windows. You can leave the doors open on a verandah you share with other guests and have no security To say the least, the rooms were charmless, not old, not modern, somewhere in between. I was so disappointed that we only stayed one night of the two we had booked. It should also be noted, that whilst it is in a beautiful location the "suite" we had, looked out onto a not very attractive building. However there were other accommodation with harbour views, but by no means do all the rooms have views. The rooms only have ceiling fans, and you can't leave the doors open, there are no fly screens. So to leave doors open means no security and mosquitoes (which there were). The reception staff were pleasant, however there was no point having an accor membership. I was told my silver didn't qualify me for a welcome drink, that this wasn't really an accor property. After quite a long discussion she did offer me vouchers, (but there were no vouchers) so I didn't bother. They are obviously used to people being disappointed with their rooms, as they were extremely efficient when I expressed my disappointment and offered me another room. (I saw them doing the same for another couple later in the day.) They were also very pleasant about me leaving early. It has certainly left me with a bad feeling about the Accor brand, and I'll think twice about booking Accor again.

Even though we are an Accor branded property, we are also a heritage listed site, Most of the accommodation suites were originally built in 1876 when there was a need for the Quarantine station to expand and have been kept as close to original condition as possible ever since. This is why some rooms have features that a modern build would not include, or are missing features expected in a modern design. Our front office staff will always assist our guests to make their stay as comfortable as possible, so I am glad that you were offered a different room when you expressed your disappointment to them. I'm so sorry again that the overall experience you had at Q Station did not meet your expectations of an Accor property , I will forward your feedback onto the relevant managers for training and improvement. 20th Wedding Anniversary

We chose Q-Station because we had stayed two times in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room they allocated us backed onto bush land with no view of the harbour and no direct sunlight on the 2 metre wide verandah, however, we were fortunate to view and be visited by fauna in the form of dragon lizards and brush turkeys, that we could befriend if we wanted to. The room was quaint and nicely attired included a hand basin and mirror with private outside bathroom and toilet and a separate toilet as well. The atmosphere was quiet, serene and peaceful, without cars or traffic. The views of Sydney harbour are spectacular from Q-Station. The small beach is safe to swim in but deep.The Boilerhouse restaurant is a must - one of our most favourite restaurants in Sydney. Q-Station is close to Manly and Shelley Beaches and public transport is available to transport you there. We loved the stay and the shuttle mini bus staff were warm, friendly and professional indeed; one in particularly played classical music as he drove you to your room. Beautiful. JF

An oasis in Sydney

A fascinating step back into our past with magnificent views of Sydney Harbour from our verandah and from the many walking trails. The food at the Boilerhouse restaurant was superb. The service ethic of staff in all locations was exemplary. Not our first visit and hopefully not our last.

A little disappointed

I get that it’s an old quarantine station but it seemed quite dreary. Constant knocks in the walls through the night on an uncomfortable bed. Was a free night and glad as would not pay $400+ for this suite pn. Had to catch shuttle everywhere with kids uncomfortable not enjoyable. Hotel needs to utilise the loads of space around rooms for parking but they want to keep it all as it was back then. Told the casual dining would be better with kids than the restaurant. Trusted their judgment but no tables where set up not adequate cover or lights. All tables where wet. Waiter non existent. Need gf. No options. We should have just booked restaurant kids would have been happier with that supposed sophisticated menu. Won’t go back. Sorry.

As our site is heritage listed, it must be kept in the most original state possible. We are also on a National Park and have regulations about local endangered wildlife which limit our impact on the National Park and the site in general. Due to these two reasons, we are unable to build private parking for each accommodation option, as well as being under regulations prohibiting private vehicles on site generally. I'm so sorry to hear that your experience with the Boilerhouse Restaurant and Engine Room Bar was disappointing and that you didn't feel looked after while dining with us. The rooms were well appointed, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed walking around the grounds, exploring the history and amazing scenery. The guest rooms were a bonus, it was great to have a space where our group could gather and enjoy something to eat and drink, in comfort. The service at the Boilerhouse was average. We were restricted to the set menu, the food was good quality however the accompaniments to the main course - vegetables and hot chips - came about 7 or 8 minutes before the meat - disappointing, as we would have liked to have enjoyed the veges and chips at the same time as our meat.

We first stayed at Q in August 2018 on a family holiday and when I discovered that I was going to be back in the country for business I booked another three night stay at Q. The setting is stunning; the amenities are exactly what you need when you’re trying to enjoy a restful, relaxing break; the food and service at Boilerhouse was incredible (special kudos to Nasher and James for their attention and care each time I attended). If I find myself in Sydney again, Q will be top of my list of places to stay.
