Disappointing Experience at Ibis Kuala Lumpur City Center: Poor Service and Lack of Transparency

My recent stay at Ibis Kuala Lumpur City Center turned out to be quite disappointing due to a series of unfortunate events that unfolded upon my arrival. Despite informing the hotel's reservation department about our late check-in, our flight landed at 11 PM, leaving us to arrive at the hotel well past midnight. However, what awaited us at the reception desk was far from satisfactory. The staff member, who introduced herself as Tessa or something similar, informed us that our booked room was already occupied, emphasizing that check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Instead of addressing the issue transparently, she suggested a windowless triple room, which was a far cry from the twin room we had initially reserved. This was not only contrary to our original booking but also misleading, as the room photos clearly depicted a window. As a loyal member of Accor Live Limitless, I expected better treatment and understanding of our situation. Despite my insistence and loyalty status, Tessa claimed there were no available rooms and proposed we stay in the triple room for the night, with a vague promise to potentially change our room the next morning. To compensate for the inconvenience, she offered us vouchers for welcome drinks, which as we figured out later was a standard offering rather than a genuine apology. Adding to the frustration, Tessa attempted to justify the hotel's policy, stating that mornings begin at 3:00 PM due to the check-out time at noon. However, this explanation did little to justify denying us our reserved room upon our late arrival. Exhausted from our journey, we reluctantly agreed to stay in the triple room for one night, under the condition of paying for only one night and leaving if our room wasn't changed the next morning. Despite our compromise, Tessa insisted on charging us for the full three nights originally booked. After demanding to speak with a manager, I was initially told that the manager was unavailable. However, after persisting, the manager confirmed that a twin room with a window was indeed available, but we would have to pay for it upfront. This revelation was frustrating, as it became apparent that the room we had originally booked was available all along, yet Tessa had been unwilling to accommodate us for some undisclosed reason. The entire ordeal left a sour taste. It's disheartening to think that the hotel might intentionally inconvenience tired guests and charge them for substandard accommodations. Furthermore, upon checking booking platforms, it became evident that twin rooms were available for the night in question. Overall, my experience at Ibis Kuala Lumpur City Center was marred by poor service, lack of transparency, and a disregard for customer satisfaction. I will not be considering this hotel for future stays, and I hope that my feedback prompts improvements in their customer service practices.

位置好,整体比较干净,但不能提前办理入住,部分前台人员会中文。提前在网上预定,但入住时没有查询到预定信息,办理入住用了40多分钟。

酒店位置太好了,出门右转走不远就到双子塔了。楼上的泳池也非常有特色,建议去的朋友们带上泳衣。

地理位置好,早餐丰盛,一层的咖啡厅价格很合理,大堂布置的也相当漂亮。床垫特别舒服,睡眠不太好的我居然一觉睡到早上八点。

整体不错,房间整洁,服务人员友好, 唯一缺点,我定的是大床房,却给我安排了双床房,我把两张床拼在一起,小孩睡在两张床的拼接处
