Dear Celine H., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We regret any misunderstanding regarding our house rules and sincerely apologise if the communication during check-in was not clear enough. Please allow us to clarify that, similar to most hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Novotel Kuala Lumpur City Centre strictly prohibits durian and mangosteen within the hotel premises. This policy is also clearly displayed in various areas of the hotel and is part of our standard house rules, which are presented and signed during the registration process at check-in. While we understand that the durian was sealed and not consumed, bringing it into the guest room still constitutes a violation of our policy due to the strong odour it may cause and its impact on other guests’ comfort. That said, we acknowledge your concern regarding communication and will further remind our front office team to place greater emphasis on explaining this policy clearly during check-in to avoid any similar misunderstandings in the future.
