The hotel is incredibly stunning. The staff was lovely although they did not communicate well. They referred a restaurant and made a reservation but the restaurant closed as we arrived. We throughly enjoyed the young man who took our bags for us and transported us t to and from the gate. He was really delightful and charming and helpful.

My wife and I had been planning since 2018 when we first saw the hotel on a cruise ship excursion to Carcassonne. We decided we would return for our 20th Anniversary on 1st May and stayed for 4 nights from 29th April. We would like to thank you and your staff for ensuring we had an excellent stay. From the moment we arrived everyone went out their way to be very helpful, welcoming and polite. We really appreciated the terrace room with its excellent views, the delighful swans towel sculpture and of course the champagne along with a personal note from Msr Richez. We were surprised to learn that the Barbicane staff were aware of our anniversary as well which was a very nice touch indeed. We chose the signature menu which was excellent. once again a big thanks to you and all your excellent staff for making it a memorable holiday.

Old is not the problem, but bedbugs are. Woke up after a short and itchy night w 4 large bites. Along my one side. Horrible. Days later and after MANY hours of sanitizing, doing multiple runs of laundry and overall damage control, and days and days of these bites itching, I must say that it is madness that you have so much material hanging everywhere, and dirty throws and pillows on the (clean?) bed and curtains etc...Never again.

20th Anniversary Break.

We first saw this hotel in 2018 whilst doing a cruise ship excursion to Carcassonne and always intended to return, we did so to coincide with our 20th wedding anniversary on 1st May. We stayed for 4 nights from 29th April and from the minute we were dropped off by the taxi at the car park we experienced nothing less than 5 star treatment, every member of staff made us very welcome. We were allocated a terrace suite which had commanding views over the town and also the chateau ramparts. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained as you would expect in a hotel of this class. On our anniversary we received a nice surprise of a bottle of champagne with a lovely hand written congratulary note from management and a beautiful towel sculpture of 2 swans, our anniversary was further recognized at the barbicane restaurant by the attentive staff who couldn't do enough for us as we enjoyed the 6 course (+4 free courses) signature menu. The library bar is a peaceful and relaxing venue to finish the night. The hotel is without doubt one of the finest we have stayed in , full of character, finesse and friendly, polite staff. The hotel offers to book taxis for you and I highly recommend this service particularly upon arrival at the airport as they are hard to come by and saves a long wait. You will be phoned by the driver as you progress through passport control. Carcassonne cite itself oozes history and has many good restaurants we visited Chez Christine and also Adelaide (twice) amongst others. The hotel is next door to the Basilica and we listened to a mass taking place (we were lucky enough to hear a Russian male voice choir in 2018) the acoustics are excellent. We had a thoroughly relaxing break and so glad we chose this hotel for our anniversary.
