Stayed at ibis Cambridge many times before. My latest experienced was an unhappy one. It seems that the hotel was fully booked. This made a clear impact on the quality of the services rendered e.g. dirty towels were mixed with clean ones, toilet was not properly cleaned, office basket was full of litter for 3 days! Hope it was only a bad moment!

Location is next to the railway station. Reception easy and welcoming. Everything works on the key card . Maybe a leaflet explaining where to dock it in the room and how to use it in the lift etc. Room clean and covid safe breakfast good bit lacking on the continental healthy side plenty of English breakfast. All staff so polite in all departments without being false or overbearing. Great stay

Close to station. Car park is pricey. The reception team are helpful and friendly. I appreciated being given a choice of floor and distance from the lift. The rooms have everything I needed and are clean. Quite a walk into central town from here.

Generally good. Modern development and well located opposite the main railway station. Breakfast adequate. My stay only let down by the shower - water lukewarm. Any cooler and i would not have been able to use. For some people it would have been too cool.

Booked through the Accor App, I expected a clean but plain stay. How absolutely WRONG I was !! From the minute I rang to confirm my booking , the exceptional customer service began. Return calls to request my ETA, so they ensure the rooms were at the right temperature, quick and easy check-in, excellent assistant in creating a group meeting area, I could go on 😊👍 Big thanks to Laura, and respect to the GM who was hands and ready to help!! Looking forward to my next trip down.

Excellent location. Very friendly, helpful, efficient and welcoming staff. Good comfortable rooms. Great to be given a free drink. The loyalty is well worth having. It brought our cost down dramatically

Acceptable stay in Cambridge with the common parts being more impressive than the rooms

A convenient location for the train station, though still about a 25 minute walk into central Cambridge. The reception/lobby area is done nicely with a trendy looking cafe that serves pizza and drinks that would be pleasant to visit even without being a hotel guest. We had a small pizza which was very tasty. The downstairs area overall feels quite modern and trendy and that was the highlight. The rooms were basic with the bathroom being a bit plasticy. The weird door and sink felt very budget where the rest of the room wasn’t as bad. There were some marks on the sink, one of the towels and some odd spillage marks on the carpet. If you don’t look too closely, the room is clean enough to be comfortable for a place to sleep if that’s all you need it for. I can’t help thinking it’s a bit of a shame the rooms were not as nice as the downstairs area.

I stayed in Ibis Cambridge in business trips prior to COVID lock-down, and recently returned once the office re-opened. The hotel is immaculately clean, and the staff are as friendly as ever. The service is always great and the COVID measures the hotel is taking make me feel completely safe. Many thanks to the management and to all the reception, bar, kitchen and cleaning teams of Ibis Cambridge!

I did not stay. I'm a doctor and had a busy week with a lot of commuting on the background of 12 months pandemic. I was phoned by a rather aggressive person two days before my stay to say was I visiting for leisure purposes and that if I was that was against lockdown regulations. As you can imagine I am exhausted and wanted to reduce the strain of the commute. I was upset by her approach and decided not to stay.

Lovely staff but not enough of them

This was a late booking, done on my phone 30 mins before arriving. I had included the dog in the booking process, however and as ever with Accor hotels, they tried to make me pay for him again and the breakfasts I had also included. That sorted all was fine. At breakfast the covid measure ment no buffet and only one young lady serving. When she left to visit the kitchens or deal with guests booking out, some guests started helping themselves breaking all the covid measures. More staff required.

The only redeeming feature of this hotel was the friendly staff and the proximity of the station. However, that's where it ends! I was annoyed that on arrival i was not given any information about health and safety (fire escapes etc). Nor was i informed that there was no room service after my first night, so i was left with wet towels as they had not been able to dry after the first night. The shower was pretty pathetic, and not at all hot. I was annoyed at the tea/coffee situation. They provided loads of nice tea bags and coffee but only 2 milks and 2 white sugars, so i kept having to go and request more (I drink my tea and sugar white with 2 sugars in, and quite a lot of it especially when i am working!) Even when i asked for me, they looked at me as if i was an alien! And had to hunt through all their cupboards to find some. I think for over £60 a night the least you can expect is as much tea/coffee as you like, PARTICULARLY as they were not offering breakfast due to Covid-19. Nor do they offer a discount in their restaurant for people who are staying at the hotel, which most other hotels do. There were no biscuits on offer and no drinking water. I was also freezing cold because the fan was locked onto the 'on' position and i cant stand to be cold as i have an illness and get very unwell if my temperature drops. The manager on the first night managed to turn it off for me and brought a little heater, but the 2nd night it came back on by itself and the lady on duty that night would not come and look at it for me, saying i could do it myself at the panel. when i did do it at the panel it still kept coming back on. After lots of messaging back and forth to her she finally came up and managed to switch it off. In general i think the hotel lobby looks lovely but my room looked run down and the carpet was well-worn and the walls looked like they needed a good lick of paint! I would not recommend staying here at all. I think they need to learn to communicate better, and they need to be more generous with what they supply, especially whilst the breakfast is not on offer. Definitely not worth the money!

clean and tidy. Staff always there too help. Our room was clean and spacious. The whole hotel was lovely and clean. The hotel is lovely and close too the train station. Close too a mini supermarket and 2 bars.

We enjoined our stay and brought a nice breakfast every morning. Easy to get to Stansted Airport by train. Cambridge is a beautiful town with a lot to see. A lot of charity shops in the city center. Very nice.

Convenient and Clean

Just outside Cambridge train station and an easy walk to the center of town. Rooms are spacious enough and clean. We had one with a nice view of the station. Beds could be better ( thicker matras ) but it’s fine for a few nights. Staff were all friendly and attentive.

AFTER A VERY TURBULENT JOURNEY (14h ferry crossing from Calais) We called the hotel to advice the of a very late arrival (12 hours late). Upon arrival we found a special welcome gift in our room to help us forget the somewhat .traumatic experience . What a kind thoughtful gesture thank you
