I did not stay. I'm a doctor and had a busy week with a lot of commuting on the background of 12 months pandemic. I was phoned by a rather aggressive person two days before my stay to say was I visiting for leisure purposes and that if I was that was against lockdown regulations. As you can imagine I am exhausted and wanted to reduce the strain of the commute. I was upset by her approach and decided not to stay.

Lovely staff but not enough of them

This was a late booking, done on my phone 30 mins before arriving. I had included the dog in the booking process, however and as ever with Accor hotels, they tried to make me pay for him again and the breakfasts I had also included. That sorted all was fine. At breakfast the covid measure ment no buffet and only one young lady serving. When she left to visit the kitchens or deal with guests booking out, some guests started helping themselves breaking all the covid measures. More staff required.

The only redeeming feature of this hotel was the friendly staff and the proximity of the station. However, that's where it ends! I was annoyed that on arrival i was not given any information about health and safety (fire escapes etc). Nor was i informed that there was no room service after my first night, so i was left with wet towels as they had not been able to dry after the first night. The shower was pretty pathetic, and not at all hot. I was annoyed at the tea/coffee situation. They provided loads of nice tea bags and coffee but only 2 milks and 2 white sugars, so i kept having to go and request more (I drink my tea and sugar white with 2 sugars in, and quite a lot of it especially when i am working!) Even when i asked for me, they looked at me as if i was an alien! And had to hunt through all their cupboards to find some. I think for over £60 a night the least you can expect is as much tea/coffee as you like, PARTICULARLY as they were not offering breakfast due to Covid-19. Nor do they offer a discount in their restaurant for people who are staying at the hotel, which most other hotels do. There were no biscuits on offer and no drinking water. I was also freezing cold because the fan was locked onto the 'on' position and i cant stand to be cold as i have an illness and get very unwell if my temperature drops. The manager on the first night managed to turn it off for me and brought a little heater, but the 2nd night it came back on by itself and the lady on duty that night would not come and look at it for me, saying i could do it myself at the panel. when i did do it at the panel it still kept coming back on. After lots of messaging back and forth to her she finally came up and managed to switch it off. In general i think the hotel lobby looks lovely but my room looked run down and the carpet was well-worn and the walls looked like they needed a good lick of paint! I would not recommend staying here at all. I think they need to learn to communicate better, and they need to be more generous with what they supply, especially whilst the breakfast is not on offer. Definitely not worth the money!

clean and tidy. Staff always there too help. Our room was clean and spacious. The whole hotel was lovely and clean. The hotel is lovely and close too the train station. Close too a mini supermarket and 2 bars.

We enjoined our stay and brought a nice breakfast every morning. Easy to get to Stansted Airport by train. Cambridge is a beautiful town with a lot to see. A lot of charity shops in the city center. Very nice.

Just outside Cambridge train station and an easy walk to the center of town. Rooms are spacious enough and clean. We had one with a nice view of the station. Beds could be better ( thicker matras ) but it’s fine for a few nights. Staff were all friendly and attentive.

The welcome and informal check in was conducted efficiently by charming staff. The room was a typical Ibis room - clean, comfortable and well-planned. Perfect for a short stay. The air conditioning/heating was efficient (and necessary!). The breakfast was very good value with plenty of choice.

Cambridge Accommodation on a Budget

Nice new hotel next to station, bit far from centre but it's a quick taxi or bus ride in to town, It's a lot cheaper than other Cambridge hotels. Check in is odd, it's done at in the narrow lift lobby at a chest of drawers by staff in t shirts with mobiles. It gets crowded and confused as people try to get to lifts, past the people milling around at check in. Shower doors have a big gap at the bottom so bathroom floor gets soaked. Chocolate, crisps and water in a gift bag is a nice touch. Walls are thin and room is noisy as a result.

I stay in this hotel frequently for work and have always enjoyed it. A place you can truly relax and unwind after a busy day... but recently they have been excelling themselves - new food on the menu, entertainment nights etc. The latest Quiz Night was great fun and a brilliant way to break the week - many thanks to the managers - Christina and Shivani - for working so hard on making Ibis Cambridge a great welcoming place. The team is always amazing - special thanks to Mihaela, Allegra, Gabriela and all others. The pizzas are the best in town!

Overall, the room was good, staff was nice and helpful. Everything was up to expectation, but it'd be great if one more rubbish bin could be provided. Experienced at Ibis Leicester right before that in Cambridge, I would say, both are value for money.

A comfortable stay and very good value for money. The room was of good size and all the amenities (shower, TV, airconditioning and kettle for tea/coffee making) were working correctly. Check in and out were very easy indeed.

Great location for the rail traveller

If you want somewhere to stay in Cambridge that is comfortable and is in a good location, then the IBIS hotel is for you. It is situated just outside the station in a small plaza with coffee shops, cycle hire and a few pubs. It is what you expect from an Ibis hotel - comfortable beds, shower (no bath) and I do like the charging block for your phones and stuff! You can eat in the café in the hotel or travel further afield. Staff are friendly and ensure check in is quick and painless! Only negative comment is the towels are small for having a shower and a bit rough! Whilst it is quiet, if you want complete quiet ask for a quiet room on the back.

Front of house staff were very friendly and offered lots of information! The room itself was well decorated in a modern styling and the facilities in the room were good. Only issue I had was that someone hadn't cleaned the room properly. There was a used cup that hadn't been removed and the bin hadn't been emptied.

Warm welcome and refurbished room

We stayed for a night when stop-by Cambridge. Warm welcome upon arrival but a nice surprised was awaiting for us. We found a bottle of beer with a New Year greeting card on the desk after returning from the walk. Room was newly refurbished and it's a decent size. Excellent location. Can jump on train at the last minute (not recommended to do so).

Improvised front desk is a disaster, no privacy, confusing and blocks traffic around the elevator. Stains on bath towels and bed sheets, rooms are tiny and the only irons the hotel has are 2 public use on the 2nd floor. Both need to be replaced as well as the ironing boards. BTW who thought that was a good idea? Breakfast was so so and could be improved.

Great location outside the station. A bit pricey and the quality of the breakfast could be improved. Friendly staff. Free drink and muffin is a nice touch. Shower strength could be improved. Free wi Fi and bottles of water provided.

Great hotel with superb location. New and clean with superb coffee in the café on the ground floor. Unfortunately the bed was extremely firm (firm is ok) with high pillows which meant that your body doesn't sink in at all and your neck is tilted too high all night. No choice of pillows.
