Our stay at IBIS Cambridge Central Station was excellent, great location with a lot of food options nearby, not to noisy for a good rest at night, clean and quiet rooms, very friendly staff and excellent food. Vero at the Chill#2 cafe was amazing!

I feel really reluctant to write this on a Sunday evening, but I feel I must do so as I have NEVER EVER experienced such a bad staying experience in any hotel in MY ENTIRE LIFE like this! Two colleagues and myself checked-in your hotel, Ibis Cambridge Central Station (Corporate), on 20th Oct 2024 (booking reference at the end). Due to change of schedule, we had to cancel the last day of stay in your hotel. So we checked with the two very kind gentlemen at the front desk and asked if we can cancel the last day’s stay and get a refund. We were told by the gentleman that we can get a refund as long as we cancel one day before our leave. So we did it – today morning (28th Oct 2024), we told the front deck that we need to cancel the booking for the 29th and got the verbal confirm. We were told by the morning front desk that we will get the refund, but we should double check on the route to return the money with front desk before we check out. So, we followed exactly what is told by you. Now everything worked out well and everyone is nice. HOWEVER, just now when we returned to the hotel after a long day and checked with the front desk, a lady named Sawmya told us that we have successfully cancelled the last day of stay but will not get refund. We got confused so we asked what happened and told her the story. However, the lady showed off as VERY IMPATIENT and stressed many times that it is not possible your employee told us we can get this refund. We told her that it is what we were told by the front desk a few days ago. She then she asked very impatiently what’s the name of the two gentleman that told us we could get the refund. We said we don’t remember. Then she started to question us if we were truly told by any of your employee because we don’t remember the name. HOW COULD WE REMEMBER THE NAME OF SOMEONE WHO CHECK US IN 10 DAYS AGO! Then we also asked to talk to the manager. This is the point where Sawmya’s voice gets way loader than it should be and emphasized that “I am the manager and there is NO WAY anyone has told you that.” She is also very obviously implying that WE ARE TELLING A LIE JUST TO GET THE REFUND!!!!!!!!!! Now another lady came and told us that actually our refund is on the way. This is where our beloved Sawmya immediately stopped talking. Then Sawmya left the front desk to talk to someone else and we were not able to get an apology get till now! btw, the towel is VERY dirty and smells weird!

My daughter and I had coffee, hot chocolate and pastries in the cafe mid morning. Valentin made the best hot chocolate and my daughter was thrilled with a range of 4 different grades of chocolate to choose from. It’s relaxed and chill in here - definitely come again

The team is always so friendly and accommodating that it makes up for the fact that this is a standard business hotel. The team is creating and nice home atmosphere which always makes me feel relaxed and looked after. Real testament to the manager Shivani O'Brien!
