Had a lovely afternoon tea We. Were unable to finish it all the sandwiches were so full The staff asked if we would like it boxed up to take home The staff were very attentive Would definitely recommend it to friends The view from the hotel is stunning

Nightmare to stay at Mercure Edinburgh

A nightmare hotel! I am here for business and the WiFi didn’t work at the hotel! I called the front desk 4 times before someone picked up the phone. No fridge in room. Not a place to stay especially if you need to use WiFi to check in online for your flight!

My grandson wanted to spend his 6th birthday at Edinburgh Castle. I booked this hotel for the night before and it was brilliant. My son said that the room was lovely with a good view of the castle. At breakfast the next morning there were balloons and a birthday banner for my grandson alongside a card and birthday cake. Everyone I dealt with were amazing. Thank you.

Great location, with amazing viewsof the Castle. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food and drink offering. Not the cheapest, but then Edinburgh during the festivals is always overpriced.

Have been going to this hotel for years booking from one year to another so we were very disappointed to be put in a less than pleasing room.My friend has mobility issues and we were put on the 6 th floor,no good if there’s a fire alarm going off as there was last year .After an hour we were given one on the 3 rd floor .The rooms have been refurbished but not been thought out .No mirror in front of dressing table just an oversized tv .No drawers at all and very little hanging space hence we had to live out of our suitcases for four days .Bathroom had shower but another handle would of been safer as there is quite a step out of shower..Great location pleasant staff ,Anna in caharge at breakfast is always more than helpful,thanks Anna .Getting to be expensive,I think they trying to recoup the money they have spent upgrading
