Good cosy rooms, well cleaned and heated. The staff are friendly too and helpful. The meals were good. The location is well suited in the middle of edinburgh, close to all the tourism spots. Highly recommended for tourism or business visits.

Hotel has great location and free wifi. On the downside the shower was clogged, towels came with hair on them, toilet had to be used diagonally (tiny bathroom). For 175£ per night there are better offers. Overall a forgettable experience..

Great location, walking distance to the Royal Mile and attractions in the town. Room was basic meet all the requirements. We had a street facing room, block out curtains were good to have morning was very noisy Breakfast was nice with lots of choices.

Small room, too hot and overpriced

I stayed one night, travelling on business. The hotel has a great central location, but the room was small with basic amenities, and uncomfortably hot from the moment I walked in. (There was a portable electric fan in the room - which I made great use of - so I'm assuming others have complained about the heat. Indeed looking at other reviews this seems to be a long-standing issue.) The bathroom was small but clean and the shower fine. I did find it inconvenient that the bathroom door didn't stay open. I like to pop in and out when doing makeup, filling the small kettle, etc but the door insisted on firmly shutting itself every time. Not a major issue I suppose. Breakfast wasn't great - I was pleased to see berries to put on my cereal, but they were still half frozen. The bacon was dry. I'd been looking forward to breakfast but was unable to finish it. However I'm sure some of the other items were fine. On the positive side the room was quiet and the bed comfortable. The hotel is overpriced for its facilities, but I suppose you are paying for the location. My company paid well over £200 for one night bed and breakfast. Had I been paying this myself I would have been disappointed with the facilities.
