The excellent location is definitely a plus to start with. Located in the Old Town it is within walking distance from many attractions and the Royal Mile. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops nearby. Other than that, the hotel is just another ordinary but comfortable chain hotel. The rooms were a little small but had all amenities in place. The quirky wardrobe does not really have much storage. The bathroom is tiny, no space for towels and clothes. And you need to wriggle out of the shower closet. The staff are friendly and helpful. With so many eateries around their own restaurant is just about functional. Comfortable lounge chairs for hanging around people watching.

Good location and accessible stay

Location right in the centre of the action. Everything seems expensive in Edinburgh so good value. Appreciated the level access and lifts as travelling with a 75 year old. Less of a step into the shower would be an improvement. Air con was confusing. It’s temperature controlled rather than air con. So we still felt hot and had to have windows open. Noisy location with window open as people get drunk until about 5am in Edinburgh.

Over priced for what it is. It’s basically a hostel. The hardest bed I’ve ever experienced. I’ve felt softer floors. It was literally a mattress pad on a base. Tiny tiny room, no space for the suitcase. The only thing going for this hotel is the location Breakfast is decent but overpriced. Skip it and get something in any cafe.

Very convenient hotel. Close to Royal Mile and Waverley Train Station. Nice hot breakfast available at the hotel. Starbucks and bakery near by. Pub next door The Pipers Rest is good. Ask for one of the bigger rooms. We stayed twice and our first room was small. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Located in the Old Town, just off the Royal Mile and walking distance to many shops, pubs and attractions. There are pubs on either side of the hotel, basically next door. Rooms are small however all amenities are good; Value wise I think you pay for the location.
