Great Hotel, Great Location, Check In Time Too Late And Was Woken By The Fire Alarm At Around 6am

We came to Edinburgh to watch a concert at Usher Hall! I adore Edinburgh (especially the old town)! The royal mile is the best place you can stay in Edinburgh as it is located right in the heart of the city and on one of the most known and historic streets. The hotel had easy access and you could easily park your car at Waverley station as it is only a short walk round to the hotel. Check in was a bit late (3pm) for us after such a long drive, we really just wanted to put our feet up and freshen up before we headed out. The staff were very helpful and friendly! Room was a decent size and all clean! Beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed. We did get back in late so we wasn’t best pleased when the fire alarm woke us up at 6am and by the time we had gone downstairs we were told there wasn’t a fire and everything was fine. It did take a while for the alarm to go off though. I would return regardless though as it was a lovely hotel

Great location on the Royal Mile, closer to the Palace end. We were on the first floor in a standard room overlooking Cannongate. First impressions were good, the room had plenty of space, was clean, with a nice bathroom. The reception staff were always polite and friendly. The only negative was that the bed was too firm, which is a personal thing.

Lovely staff and room. Well stocked small kitchen.

The first image shown of a new building with the blue accents on the lower ground is not the same hotel picture 29 in the gallery is the hotel entrance. It's a perfect location from not just the train station but most of the attractions. So a great base. The staff were so friendly and nice. The lobby area was comfortable and relaxing. You do need to use your room keycard to activate the lift so you press it against the pad and then chose up or down to whatever floor you want to go to. The room was nice, modern, comfortable, and clean. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need, including cooking utensils, pots, pans, and, under the sink, a small selection of cleaning products. You even had a full sized fridge and a small dishwasher. You don't get oil, salt etc which is understandable. Not much of a view outside, just over the courtyard, but I wasn't there for the view. Now for a bit of a downside, lots of plugs but not one single USB port. Fortunately, I always pack a plug in USB port,so I didn't have an issue. Just seems odd to have so many sockets and not a single USB port. Also, the shower and bathroom floors are super slippery when wet, which is, of course, pretty common, so make sure to use the shower mat and the towel mat, especially if you have children in there. Since I could use the kitchen to prepare simple meals, it saved me a lot of money in the end.

Lovely room, we had an issue with the tv not working but the receptionist got a maintenance man the next day and sorted the tv out when we got back from site seeing. Lovely bathroom and comfy bed. Only downfall is the room was a little cold. Friendly staff and always have help on the desk.
