the room was quite small- struggled to find somewhere to sit other than the bed It was not made clear to me that additional items could be ordered for breakfast there is no secure parking close by

Friendly and helpful staff who were welcoming and responsive to my and the training course needs. A good breakfast, a range of options. Evening menu was limited. The attendees of the training course I was facilitating were not resident in the hotel and remarked several times about it being tired and not somewhere they would stay. The hotel is rather tired as a building and in its furnishings. There are clearly parts of it that need attention and upgrading. The bedroom was comfortable but as before tired. The bath taps did not work, it was a shower or nothing, not a particular to me but it may be for others.

Noisy and small room

The windows are not sound proof The room was so small that the chair in front of the dressing table could not be used as it was up against the bed, I struggled to walk around it.

The hotel is situated very conveniently near George Square. However, that meant that it was occasionally noisy, especially on Friday evening. The room was quite small but adequate, though there was only one chair in the double room. The bed was not comfortable, as it was very firm with little padding. I had to sleep on top of the duvet to make it comfortable to lie on. There was a choice of pillows, but none was really comfortable, as the filling in 3 of them was very firm. The fourth’s filling was clumped together, but was more amenable to rearrangement. Dinner was pleasant but not outstanding. Breakfast had plenty of choice at the weekend, but by Monday they had run out of sourdough, butter, vegetable spread, and yogurt, which limited the choice considerably. I was amazed to find that large hotel does not have emergency stocks in a freezer, as apparently one late delivery had caused the shortage. That is cutting supply very fine.
