AMAZING apart from the food.

Will be returning regularly with out two little dogs. The staff are absolutely lovely, bedrooms amazing, hotel beautiful. The only reason we didn't give it 5 star is because the food is very average for the very expensive price! We had main and dessert and it almost felt like it had been frozen or out of a tin :( but wont phase us, will still stay in future and eat out somewhere else! X

Well we didn’t expect to become fluent in ‘scouse’ during this Xmas break but interestingly we could hear every word of the full blown argument through the paper thin walls from the couple next door - yes, even through my earplugs. It went on incessantly until 0200hrs before the incredibly loud ‘make up sex’ started however according to reception they attended a couple of times to listen but couldn’t hear anything. Yeah, right…we don’t believe you Mecure. We stood outside the room and collared a member of staff passing by asking him to sort the occupants out but were told he would mention it to reception (eye roll) If you were the selfish couple in room 120 shouting at each other to F off out of the room then please, next time, do us all a favour and do just that. When we complained to reception about the lack of sleep and action all they could do was ask each other what to do and then mention emailing the manager who was away until Tuesday (eye roll 2). There was so much wrong with this hotel as mentioned in other reviews so listen if you don’t want to feel completely ripped off and wondering how the heck people even consider giving this place 5 stars….! Have they actually ever had good service and comfort? The positive … yes there’s always one of those…was the food and the staff we came across during our stay who were polite and friendly - even the unhelpful reception staff. Not bad considering everything else that was just diabolical. As you can imagine, we will never return…educational lesson learned !

Naturally, I am very sorry indeed that your experience was poor and not worthy of a higher score rating. The on duty team acted upon your feedback and in fact investigated your feedback at the time on four separate occasions but did not find anything out of the ordinary at the time and could not pinpoint where the noise you referred to was coming from. This included visiting rooms either side and above the room you occupied. I am sorry that this caused for a restless sleep. Our team are all empowered to deal with feedback as it arises so it is a shame that your comments were not dealt with at check out and thank you for escalating to our front of house manager via email. I am sure you will appreciate people book hotels for all manner of reasons and we unfortunately cannot 'vet' everyone prior to staying. We all work really hard to offer our guests an enjoyable experience and are genuinely disappointed if we do not achieve this. I booked a comedy dining evening for my wife and me for our Ruby wedding anniversary. I am disabled, and I just assumed that given the number of rooms spread over two floors, there would have been a lift should we have been given a room on the first floor. Unfortunately, not, so two flights of stairs were hard work, but worse was the trek to the room once I managed to get up the stairs. We booked a second night which wasn't part of the comedy dining and mentioned the problem with my mobility to the reception staff, in fairness to them they then gave us an upgraded room on the ground floor for our second night, also have to say that the staff were amazing and very friendly. Personal little niggle, not a snob by any means, I enjoy a nice brandy or cognac, Martel at the bar for over £5.00 a shot which was to be expected but, not one brandy balloon at either bar so ended up with a tumbler, not good, lesson learned if we were ever to stay here again take my own brandy glass with me. Breakfast, is amazing, with enough variety to suit all tastes.

Auf den Bildern macht das Hotel einen wirklich sehr schönen Eindruck. Diese entsprechen aber leider nicht der Realität. Die Zimmer sind zwar sauber, aber haben dringend mal eine Renovierung nötig. Es ist immer wieder schade, wie sehr doch im Internet Tatsachen falsch dargestellt werden. Warum enttäuscht man Gäste so? Wenn man von vornherein weiß, wie es aussieht und welcher Preis zu bezahlen ist, kann man sich drauf einstellen. Aber so? Muss das sein?
