Firstly my booking was made WITH breakfast and I was told on check-in that breakfast would be extra. Secondly there was a tray of food covered in flies left outside of my room. Next up was the room itself. It was like an oven with zero air conditioning. The previous guest was clearly a smoker as there were cigarette butts all over the window ledge. The mattress was about 20 years old and offered zero support. The paint was peeling, their was mould and peeling paint in the bathroom, the carpet hadn’t been hovered in about 100 years, the breakfast serving area surfaces hadn’t been cleaned, the coffee machine hadn’t been cleaned and was in a disgusting state, the scrambled eggs were like concrete and had clearly been made with powdered eggs. I’m an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran and have stayed in cleaner forward operating bases. Finally, in the middle of June when it was 29 degrees centigrade outside, the radiators in the hallways were on full blast. The hotel is disgusting and needs a full refurbishment or closing down. Accor as a brand should be embarrassed to have a hotel like this linked to them.

The building are amazing, forming a little beautiful cluster in the middle of town. Breakfast was good, and very cheerful thanks to the friendly staff. But the facilities in our room were awful: dirty floors, poor lighting, grotty bathroom, barely-functioning shower. Nice mattress though. All-in-all, a two-and-a-half star experience, which is sad, especially as an Accor Gold member.

Room not clean bathroom in a very bad state of repair. Stained carpet. Whole room needs a full up grade and deep clean. Toilet seat did not stay up .grouting in bathroom urgently needs re doing.
