Hotel Mercure Brussels Centre Midi 4 estrelas

avoid this place, construction happening in the main road outside the hotel. It feels dangerous, dirty. traveling with a group of 5 and didn’t feel safe at all, very run down area and no even close to the tourist attractions. hotel itself is nice and staff is good unfortunately wrong location atm.

Although the hotel is very near the Eurostar station it is also in the middle of a massive building site. We got a taxi from the centre of Brussels and he was reluctant to take us to the hotel, A) because of the Building site and B) because the area is so run down he said it is unsafe to go there after dark. The carpet in the room could have done with a deep clean, well a clean of any kind would have been good. If you want the eurostar stay in central Brussels and get a taxi direct to the station

pay no attn of the reviews moaning on about the work going on outside . yes they are digging up the road but this doesnt detract from the quality of this hotel. its well placed mins away from the rail station and 15 min walk to city centre square . good clean rooms with well stocked extras . nice to have a steam room and sauna .the area is not as others say i felt very safe at all times . book up and go brussels is superb

I spent two nights at the Mercure hotel near Brussels midi station, so that I could be close to the conference I was attending nearby. Hotel faces an enormous building site. This isn’t too much of a problem as I couldn’t see much actual work taking place, but it is an enormous project and one would think that this could be quite noisy. The area surrounding the hotel is not great. I already knew this, but I would suggest if you’re a tourist, ignore the proximity to the station and find somewhere nicer. The building itself is fine. The reception was excellent and check-in was seamless. My real issue is with the room… Whilst I accept it is clean and tidy, the bed is unbelievably uncomfortable. The mattress is absolutely no ‘give’ in it whatsoever, so much so that I had two really bad nights sleep. I also found the shower (which was clean) kept running cold when I was using it, which was extremely annoying, especially after a poor nights sleep. I payed for breakfast, which was sparse to say the least. Very little choice. This is a fairly average business hotel and I would look elsewhere next time I was in Brussels.
