Mercure Hunter Valley was the ideal spot for our short wine country escape, a perfect location with top wineries within an easy drive and the stunning Hunter Valley Gardens an easy ten minutes walk away. The spacious rooms were clean and comfortable and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a delicious dinner at Elements... the on-site restaurant and the buffet breakfast offered plenty of choice. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay with easy access to the best the Hunter Valley has to offer.

First problem was understaffed and we waited so long in the restaurant to be given menus , then another long wait for our orders to be taken . One overwhelmed lady was trying to do it all . Our wine arrived after we finished our meal so we sent it back Secondly after we got home I realised my husband had left 2 brand new business shirts in the closet of our room so I calked the hotel where a girl On reception said she would check and call back . I waited 2 days without any response and rang again . Once again a girl said she would check and call back It took 4 phone calls to be told that there was nothing reported by housekeeping which I find very suspicious. Seems honesty in the staff employees is questionable because they would have been obviously good quality new shirts and not thrown out . Someone has taken them . The attitude of reception staff was lacklustre . Will not stay in a Mecure again

We stayed for 2 nights with friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary Firstly the restaurant was understaffed and we waited for nearly half an hour for our orders to be taken and then they eventually remembered to bring our wine after the meal was over Secondly my husband accidentally left 2 almost new business shirts in the cupboard when we departed I rang the next morning and a lady on reception said she would check and get back to me 2 days later I rang again and was once again told they would check and ring back On the 4 th call I was told that housekeeping had not found anything . I find that hard to believe and very disappointed in the integrity of the staff .

Good location to get around the hunter. Rooms and facilities were as expected for a Mercure - nothing spectacular but fine if you are spending your time out and about which we were. Stay were super friendly which added to our experience.

Our go to place in the Hunter Valley. If you are looking for a 5 star resort, stay away. This place is great for families visiting the gardens or the quick trip. Stayed a few times over the years and does what i need. It's a hotel that has a bed.. heater... shower and parking. Yes it may cost a little. But you are in the Hunter Valley!
