I had a very pleasant stay here recently. Lovely big room with a small courtyard with chairs and a table and fabulous air-con. I'd say they were probably 1 person short on the front desk for my whole stay...had to wait some time for service at the bar and reception.

Very dated rooms, thin walls with clearly audible neighbours and an abundance of bugs in the bed itself with a moth and spider trapped in sheets. Yes, bugs are a fact of life especially around the bush, but the worn weather strip's on doors doesn't help either. Indifferent staff with service lebels hovering just above rudeness. A pillow case with labled with NSW HealthShare, which simply shouldn't be there. Hot water ran out one morning so cold showers were forcefully enjoyed. A single glass bottle with tap water was not refilled once during stay. Upon checkout, $140 in extra charges incorrectly charged to the bill without confirming. When queried, this was refunded, but not without skepticism and being quizzed if we were sure we didn't eat at the restaurant (yes, we were very sure). Mattresses were woefully uncomfortable and pillows offered no support. Springs very noticeable as was the gap between two beds making up a king and the zips. Location was great.

Our plans for a few days in the Hunter Valley went awry quite quickly due to ill health. However, I cannot praise the Mecure Hunter Valley for being so accomodating to our circumstances. Thank you for going out of your way to making our stay a little less stressful. We were lucky enough to have dinner there a couple of times - great meal. The bar and bar menu was also lovely. Nice and close to shopping village. It was a little cold so we didn’t get to use the pool - but it looked great. Maybe next time….

Dated, needs a facelift. Cleanliness really needs to be stepped up. Dusty walls, dusty furniture, dirty walls and bathroom. Does not appear their cleaning is to a standard. Water damaged vanity, paint coming off the wall and a dirty stain in the couch (who knows what it is) Located in a prime location, that’s the only thing good about this place

The hotel is comfortable, the service is very good and the location is perfect for exploring the Hunter region. Our Superior King room was spacious with all the facilities required. The King bed and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom had a large bath and walk-in shower. We had dinner in the restaurant on one night and casual dinner in the bar and lounge on the other nights. The breakfast selection wide and included cereals and fruit, pancakes, hot meals and pastries. The hotel is centrally located in Pokolbin and close to wineries and other attractions such as the Hunter Valley Gardens.
