Rude staff - shouted at us at our Dads funeral.

We were attending my husbands fathers funeral at this hotel who sadly passed a few weeks ago. My husband and his brothers were obviously all very grief stricken and upset. For absolutely no reason, a rude bar person shouted at me because I didn’t hear what he said, he asked if we wanted water for someone and I didn’t hear, so he shouted across a bar full of people ‘I HAVE ASKED YOU 3 TIMES! Then berated me for ignoring him. I apologised and said I simply didn’t hear as I was talking to my brother in law WHOS DAD HAS JUST DIED!!! I couldn’t believe it and was so embarrassed and shocked. My husband was upset and angry so asked to speak to a manager who did absolutely nothing. We stayed another hour but didn’t dare go back to the bar, and nobody even bothered apologising. I emailed the day after, also with room issues such as no running cold water and broken shower and terribly uncomfortable bed and was met with excuse after excuse that made no sense. We would have been happy with a simple heartfelt apology. We spent thousands on the wake, bedrooms, and bar. To be treated this way Do not book a sensitive family event here. I am still in shock over the treatment and lack of sincerity in apologising and trying to fix it.

What a wonderful time I had! Food was brilliant, staff were extremely accommodating and hospitable and every query of mine was taking into consideration. Will come again.

Lovely stay, Priya was amazing on the front desk organising transport to ans from our Xmas party. Staff were very approachable, room clean and beds comfortable!! Thanks guys.
