I arrived 3-4 hours early and asked if complimentary early check-in was available (had just come from a flight to around 39 degrees celcius of heat - walking avout 30 minutes in this hear). Instead of politely telling me no, the front check-in lady gave me the expression that I was asking for something absolutely ridiculous, and made me feel very embarassed and small (i.e. the fact that you are asking for such an option is honestly unbelievable kind of vibe - again could be a personal interpretation but nonetheless this is what I clearly felt at the time). Then coldly she stated that I needed to pay 88,000 KRW for the early check-in. The booking for the full night was only around 130,000 KRW so for 3-4 hours I had to pay almost 70 percent of the full night cost which itself didnt make sense (this is knowing that plenty of rooms were available). I was very tired hot and embarrassed, so just said ill pay for this additional cost, and ultimately being a first time user of Ibis, I was absolutely disappointed with this experience. As the CEO of a global tech company, I dont know if I will be using Ibis again, or recommend it to the list of preferred hotels for employees when they are on business trips. Or maybe thid could just be the single Ibis Ambassador Suwon hotel and just the issue with that single employee, so maybe I will give it another shot later with a different hotel. But overall just wanted to provide you with my fully transparent and honest feedback. Thank you
