Great location, comfortable bed.

Great central location, easy check in, room clean and bed comfortable, large room, sofa, huge flatscreen tv, fridge, kettle, tea and coffee,we opted for no house keeping for our 3 night stay so enjoyed the privacy. Bathroom stocked with Rituals, hand soap, shampoo and shower gel, we had a bath with a shower over it, plenty of hot water and a decent spray, I did find it a little precarious stepping out of the bath, it did feel high, and held onto the towel rail to get out, I was terrified I would pull it off the wall though! Not a fan of the separate toilet with no sink especially if I had to get up in the night, stumbled about to use the toilet then stumbled about to find the bathroom! Just a few negatives , very few coat hangers, pillows lumpy and room a bit chilly but there is a spare quilt. We did however sleep very well and found it very quiet we couldn’t hear adjoining rooms at all, lifts were great as we were on level 5. We had no view at all just a building covered in scaffolding but fortunately as it was the Christmas/New Year holiday they were not working on it!

Communication lacking at Novotel

There are some really simple things this hotel could do to make guest experience better. They are all tied to communication. On booking it would be so easy to add plain information about the need to pre book the multi story carpark next door with the discount code, add that if you wish to use the pool facilities you need to pre book, so that when you arrive and try to go for a swim, you aren't disappointed to find that the pool is fully booked that evening, to make it clear before you go down to the basement that you have to go to reception to get a key to get into the pool, to make that key different to your room key, so that you know which is which, to write somewhere in the room or on the welcome email that tells you what time you need to check out. The room itself was clean, warm, spacious and quiet enough (front facing). The separate toilet to the bathroom is fine in the room but I find the lack of a basin in the toilet absolutely disgusting. The central location of the hotel was excellent.

Stayed for three nights with friends we all liked the hotel it is in a very good location and the rooms were comfortable and clean they have 3 lifts so you never wait long to get to your floor we were on 7th and the bar and restaurant was very nice thay have a swimming pool and fitness centre but we never used it as we didn't get the time as we like all the shops all in all we had a nice time and will stay here again the next time we are in Liverpool.

Very poor customer service by management and Team.

Disgraceful customer service. Rooms fully paid in advance and they will not facilitate the booking to 24 hours later and move the check in date to following day. I Have emailed the manager and declined to help in any way as they stated the room was pre paid. Simple request declined and a hotel with this reputation could treat a paying customer this way. It is a very reasonable request and willing to pay the same out of money for the 2 nights in return for only 1 night.

Terrible customer service, staff rude and won’t ammend a future booking by 1 single day even though it’s fully paid

Absolutely disgusted they would not ammend a future booking made for 29th of December for 2 nights prepaid in full. They will not accommodate in anyway for the following day for check in on the 1st January. Staff are rude on the phone and not willing to change the date even with availability. Terrible customer service with plenty of opportunity to rectify a simple request for a paying customer.
