Hotel and its location is good. The room cleaniness requires upgraded. The room carpet need to be clean bcos i discovered many dirt marks on the carpet.

Hotel lobby is grand. The room I stayed, 405 has a few issues. Power socket on the work desk has no power. Lighting in the wardrobe cannot be turned off. Air condition is not cold even with highest fan speed and lowest temperature. Hotel does not provide Hand towels, The toilet finishing is rather old.

I love how novotel really cover and pay attention to things that make them a starred hotel. Customer service from everyone i encountered is to my satisfaction, everyone is nice and easy to smile without being over the top. I had smooth check in and check out process. I was upgraded and my room was nice, spacious, and clean. Some aspects, especially glass stained show the hotel's real age but it doesnt affect my stay as they keep the quality of their bed, sofa, and chair - it doesnt feel old or nearly broken. Breakfast was varied, I would argue it couldve been a better spread like the main buffet wasnt really appetizing but i love they have cold cuts and the pastries were incredible even though i was never a sweet toothed person. I would definitely return should i visit Balikpapan again, thank you for a great service
