The restaurant was spacious and it has high ceilings so the heat from the food stalls wasn't trapped. The service was excellent. The receptionist was helpful (I was assisted by Mr Rangga). Thanks Novotel Balikpapan. I would recommend this to my colleagues for sure.

I checked in at the hotel around 09.30 PM and found that my room is upgraded from deluxe to super deluxe. I was quite happy until 20 minutes after i enter the room, the electricity was trip/down (probably due to a short circuit happens) and have to wait about 15 minutes (since i called the receptionist) until someone coming to fix it up (in the dark and no Oxygen supply). After that, i just found that the water dispenser doesn't work (this one was fixed the next day) and there was no empty electric plugs that i can use for charging my gadget. All were connected to electronic devices (tv, dispenser, lamps, microwaves). How could a super deluxe room in 5stars hotel not have electric plugs for charging??? I am so disappointing because i stay there for scientific meeting.

It was a standard stay with novotel hotel. All services met the standard, i was happy. But, the smoky smell from the bathroom really BOTHERED me, since i was allergic to smoke. I booked and got the non smoking room, but STILL i could smelled it so strong in my bathroom. I didnt hv time to complaint sincet

Hi, i just loved Novotel Balikpapan,,maybe this hotel needs upgrade. 1. bathroom need improvement a lot, such as broken wastafel in room 616/618, large windows just cover with blur ice striker made us when showering not comfortable, may be need curtain just like before, so its cover well. 2. sofas at lobby lounge and sport lounge near Pool need to be clean, smells not good and dusty, just old school furniture. 3. overall Breakfast just upgraded. 4. lobby also need upgrade, low light, not so cold. The personnel was very welcoming and helpful. Unluckily, rooms (especially restrooms) weren’t as clean as I expected for such an hotel. Gym restrooms were unsatisfactory too: quite dirty, empty shampoo dispenser and cigarette butts on the floor.

- I am asking room services for asking ironing and brown sugar, but not receive at all. - The water in bathroom was so smelly like treated by chlorine. - Tap water in my bathroom is not properly work, water coming out from the faucet was too small. - Some of faucet in public restroom in lobby area are not properly work, really poor maintenance like an old warehouse.

It's been 2nd-3rd time that I stayed in Novotel so far in 2019. Unfortunately, my travel agent forgot to book the hotel for me but the receptionist provided the room in no time. The next things that need to be commented are: - Hot water took sometime to flow, perhaps because my room was right at the end of corridor - The bacon was cold for morning breakfast because the stove was not working
