We stayed here before our long haul flight, and it was by far one of the best nights sleep in a hotel we have ever experienced. We had a queen superior room, lovely large bed, and most importantly the room was so quiet and no noise of the planes taking off/landing at all.Breakfast was to a high standard, and was lovely and light before a long flight!!! Reception staff were really kind, and all in all, was a wonderful stay, will deffo do it again!!!!

Close as you need to be!

Perfect location & very well presented rooms. Short walk into the airport directly from the lobby & parking was located just behind/under the hotel! Would definitely stay again - also the restaurant (Italian) we quick service and very good quality.

Excellent location; functional and professional service

The Sofitel is part of the Accor chain and therefore has a fairly standard level of service and comfort for the type of hotel it is. With this hotel, that is exactly what happens. It has an excellent location and competent, professional service. The rooms are up to the standards of Sofitel hotels in the Accor chain. The breakfast is complete and of excellent quality. The only downside is related to the poor quality of the food in room service. I do not recommend.

Best hotel at the airport.

I’m not a fan of the Sofitel brand but the Sofitels at Gatwick and Heathrow are the best hotels at both airports. We had a luxury room which was clean, comfortable and convenient. The staff are friendly, efficient and well-trained. If I had a tip, it would be don’t bother with the rather plain lounge. The snacks are ordinary and the wine terrible - strange for a French hotel! The lounge visit however was much improved by the friendly and enthusiastic Alexandra.

Disappointing Suite

We are currently at Sofitel Gatwick for 4 nights. The location is convenient for Gatwick but the hotel is overpriced and a very poor standard for Sofitel. We have the Prestige Suite. Firstly, the suite is nothing like the photos. The marketing is very misleading. In the photos the room and lounge looks cosy, comfortable and inviting. In reality, there are no decorative cushions on the bed or sofa ...the sofa is quite uncomfortable without these cushions. I don't know why they use them for the photos but take them away when there are guests....doesn't make sense at all. Today's housekeeping was not completed. They did not clean the living area....I had to take the rubbish to her myself when I returned from the gym and the coffee table is still full of crumbs. The club lounge is adequate but does not offer a variety of healthy options. The soft drinks are limited. There is only one lift working so it takes forever to move between floors. Breakfast was fine however on arrival the staff were too busy training to welcome us, so we had to wait as they had their backs to us. He then took us to a table that had already been occupied and had not been set up with new jams etc. I had to go and take the jams from another table that was set. Not sure why he did not take us to that table! Overall, not impressed with this hotel. We have just stayed at Sheraton Heathrow, Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi, Pullman Doha and Movenpick Muscat. This hotel has been the most disappointing in terms of comfort of the room and housekeeping. This is supposed to be a 4 star luxury Accor hotel. Movenpick and Pullman are a lower level of the Accor brand but so much better. We won't return to this hotel.
