We spent three nights at the Sofitel. The staff was friendly and efficient and helpful. We heard Bula dozens of times from them. The room was quiet, comfortable and large and well air conditioned, We had a view of the ocean that was breathtaking from our balcony. The big pool was being renovated so there was just the one at the end, but it was clean, had plenty of lounge chairs and was never overly crowded. The breakfast buffet was very good-I appreciated the adults only eating section outside every morning. It was easy to take the Bula Bus around Denaru and get to the port for several good restaurants and shops. The Fijian fire dancer performance Friday night at 8 was fun to see and being right on the ocean was even more beautiful. We ate at the Solis restaurant and had an amazing server and enjoyed the food and being outside by the beach and ocean to eat. The staff helped us get a taxi to the airport and helped with ideas for tours. We ended up using an outside one, not one they suggested. Fijian Air has an office at the hotel so you can get your bags tagged and taken to the airport and can get boarding passes printed if you want. We would like to come back as soon as possible!

We were part of the Brian Judd Tour group coming to Fiji. We had such an amazing experience staying at the Sofitel Fiji Resort. Everyone was family. We believe in family and that made us feel so important. Thank you for such an amazing, relaxing, stay.

Whilst the staff at the Sofitel were all extremely nice and they did try to address the issues we had, I cannot forgive the fact that after travelling for 27 hours to get to Fiji we were told on arrival that the adults only area was not operating and was open to all guests. Similarly the Beach Club access was revoked. We were credited 150 FJD for this which shows the complete disregard the management have for their customers. It didn’t go unnoticed that you charge 220FJD for existing guests to upgrade to the Beach Club. We were told we were the ONLY guests that had not been advised of the change. We booked last July so you had plenty of time to get it right. We would have cancelled and booked elsewhere, thanking you for letting us know that the pool was closed. Instead, I believe you knowingly allowed us to turn up at the hotel and left it to the check in staff to advise us. The person who checked us in was somewhat vague as to what was actually happening, which did not help for the first couple of days. In fact it was only when I asked about the cocktails and canapés that we found out the true impact of the changes. Your team did try to ‘soften’ the impact but I was not looking for sympathy or discounts, I wanted the holiday I had booked. You clearly were unable to deliver this. I think we saw the general manager wandering about but he did not have the courtesy to introduce himself and apologise for what had happened.
