Location of hotel was the best aspect of our experience. Beds very comfortable and room clean. Breakfast included was terrible unless you wanted to order from the menu at a further cost. Disliked the distasteful decor finding it very strange indeed and in poor taste. Weird sense of “ boutique French “ Tacky and tasteless. Wasn’t prepared for it to be so glitzy tac. I had assumed the Sofitel standard would prevail especially with the reviews, ratings and cost per night. No place to eat or drink after breakfast. Probably due to Covid restrictions ( Sept ‘22 ?) The Spa experience was awful. Massage was perfectly good but no luxury or sense of relaxation whatsoever before or after. The Spa depressing and dated. Needs refurbished . So disappointing and expensive. Would never return. Expensive stay for shabby experience.

This is my favourite NZ hotel and once again I had a fantastic stay at Sofitel Queenstown. Close to everything, spacious rooms, attentive staff, lovely day spa and a club lounge. Highly recommend to all.

Excellent room and bathroom.... Location great... central to everything Maybe could do with updating in the reception /foyer area.... the carpet as we came in the entrance looked a bit thread bare

Height of the ski season, 100% (or near) occupancy and the Restaurant is closed for dinner. As an alternative, In-room dining was offered which was singularly lacking in inspiration and felt more like a take-away menu. And why have you taken away 60%- 70% of the complimentary toiletries in the bathroom? At $6oo+ a night a miserly cost cutting exercise like that takes away the feeling of being wanted, being part of the family, that we used to have at all Sofitel hotels we've stayed at around the world. The staff were fully understanding and empathetic of our disappointments and tried their best to make amends. For that they are commended. But it is Management that makes these decisions and they will have to live by them. Trying to recoup your losses of the last two years in some sort of record time is wrong, wrong, WRONG. There are many hotels to choose from, I guess the Accor group will be happy to lose another customer.

Great location in Queenstown. Enjoyed the lounge and breakfast. Had some HSK issues with soiled linen (?spaghetti sauce on pillowcase and ?blood on bathmat). These were replaced when prompted however I didn’t receive a response to a follow up email re this. Otherwise would stay again :)
