We had a fantastic experience with Emily at check in. The location is ideal right across from Fergburger and can walk around town and the lake v easily and across from the gondolas. Thanks for our 35th anniversary treats! The buffet breakfast is an absolute must and we didn’t need to have anything until evening coffee. The servers at the breakfast area are wonderful, the smoothies, pastries, baked beans, made to order eggs, various coffees, lattes, avocado, hash brown- not to be missed. My husband gave them a generous tip and they were so happy. We did prepay for the parking which was convenient, and we did pay a premium to stay here, but so worth it and loved the heated flooring in the room, which was not v well lit but we just came back to sleep and was fine with us.

Great location, tired hotel.

Our experience was completely different when we stayed at the Sofitel 10 years ago. This time, the staff were unknowledgeable, the facilities and the room were tired and the overall experience felt like this hotel's best days have come and gone. We stayed on the third floor and the hallway smelled like urine. I would gladly pay more money to stay in a Sofitel in such a great location if the hotel was renovated.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We strive to provide a superior service experience for every guest; therefore your feedback is very important to us. I have some news, the new owners of the business are about to embark on a large renovation project with the hotel to bring the rooms and surrounds up to a more modern spec. As for the smell of urine, this is very unfortunate and I am sincerely apologetic for this, this is not a standard I like to place against me or the team and I can confirm that this has been rectified.
