Jentalbs Friends getaway - TripAdvisor review

Absolutely beautiful hotel & in the best position to walk to restaurants & across the road to the ski bus. Fabulous staff, comfortable room & the one restaurant that was open 3 nights, was excellent. Great breakfast too.

Very disappointing. For $1000 per night we got; - A spa bath that didn’t work and ultimately couldn’t hold water due to a temperamental plug. - A terrible smell exiting the 3rd floor elevators created by the Jervois Steakhouse who have tenancy in the building. Many times the smell of cooking meat permeated our room. - Zero privacy and considerable noise from outside. Unbeknown to us - at 6am queues form outside the hotel for skiers being transported to the mountains. No complaints about service levels and kudos to all staff given COVID related staffing shortages. My complaint sits squarely with the ownership/management and lack of understanding what a 5 star hotel should mean. Most disappointing stay ever in a hotel of this standard. Would never return and would highly recommend seeking alternatives in Queenstown.

The staff at Sofitel were just so friendly, professional & went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Thank you to Reception & all the staff. My only feedback would be Club Lounge. As we have stayed in many Sofitel Club Lounges around the globe - the food, no cocktails & the small area of the Club was disappointing.

We were give a Luxury Room which was very, very dusty and old. We did not enjoy with at all. WE did not like the service in the restaurant as well. There is nothing French about this place.
