Wonderful historic building in a peaceful spot. Great hospitality by all staff at the Motel/Hotel itself, and very accommodating helpful people all around! I appreciate that all very much. Nice big room (I had a loft). My one complaint was the food there in Olims just not being very good. Breakfast of scrambled eggs were wet sloppy and tasted watered down and tasteless. I love my eggs, so this was a disappointment. I tried them 3 times and found the same each time. I also had dinner there just the once and was disappointed and felt pricing was steep for such bland food (I had the beef brisket sandwich which was dry and in need of a sauce and flavour.) Great place to stay, just not to eat!

The good and the Not so Good

There were two busloads of us. pulled up in the front. We couldn't get out as there was no easy access for elderly or people with wheely walkers. Carer had to go into the foyer get our keys and then we had to drive around the back to access through the car park. That was locked so had to use one of the keys to unlock the gate. Rooms furnished with very old fashion cupboards. Huge TV on wall but no instructions how to use it. Remote control very basic with very few buttons. Lovely glass tables, a chair, a huge very comfortable king size bed. Beautiful new and spotlessly clean bathroom with long vanity, toilet and shower but no safety handrail or shower stool, very slippery for the elderly. Old world charm hotel but needs to be brightened up. The bistro where we had breakfast was a disgrace for the size of the hotel. We had to wait an hour before we could get in and find a table, it was the quick and dead. The breakfast food was very good but the lids on the containers were broken and half falling off. It was like a cheap cafeteria. The staff were lovely and there was a beautiful courtyard garden to sit in.

Clean but Lacking the Pet Experience Shown Online — No Courtyard Provided

The hotel is quite outdated, though it was clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the ‘courtyard’ is just a dirt patch, which really takes away from the overall atmosphere. It’s okay for a short stay, but definitely needs some updating and landscaping to feel more inviting. There were also no pet amenities provided — no treats, bowls, or welcome touches for my dog. I’ve seen some of my Instagram friends stay here and their rooms had a paved courtyard and complimentary dog treats, which made their stays look much more enjoyable. Ours, unfortunately, didn’t include any of that, which was disappointing given the photos online.

Good hotel, centrally located,10 minutes to the city. Large rooms with clean toilets. All facilities. The breakfast was excellent and the best value for money. Staff were polite. On-site parking available.
