On both arrival and departure I found the young lady on the desk, Jasmin, to be enormously helpful. I am disabled and needed help with my two pieces of luggage. This young lady left the desk, came down to the car, put my luggage onto the trolley and took it up to my room. On my departure she did the same, in reverse naturally, and i cannot commend her highly enough. Edward Theodore

Good hotel and very central to great restaurants, shops, entertainment and sites. Hotel is a good sized pool and spa which the kids will enjoy. The parking is $27 a night which is very expensive and it can take some time to get your car as they are also parked offsite, some days 30-40 minutes. If you are travelling with a family and want a pool then its a great choice.

- Sub standard rooms - No Porter services. You had to port your luggage from carpark to room and vice versa. They couldnt even manage to bring up the trolly for us. We had to go floor to floor hunting for it... No compensation let alone an apology. - Receeption staff was nice but idnt compensate for their errors nor provide apology... -Restaurant and Bar staff extremely rude and arrogant. Food was scarce at one of the breakfasts. Its safe to say that we wont be staying there again....

Very pleased with the prompt service when we had a leak in the bathroom. Attended to quickly. Offered a room change if we wanted one. Disappointed with restaurant menu. Limited gluten free options.Side dishes were too large. Like a main course. Breakfast had even less options - gluten free bread, no fresh fruit. Coffee order didn't arrive after waiting half an hour. Gave up so left. Have stayed there on several occasions and had a great experience. Seemed to be a shortage of staff. I realise that it was a public holiday but 15% surcharge seemed a lot. Stayed previous night in another town at an upmarket motel and paid 10%.

We had a great time as a family at this property. Front office staff was very attentive, caring and super friendly. Also special thanks to valet team as well under the basement car park. Housekeeping staff showcased a pleasant smile everyday with genuine greetings all the time when we pass by the corridors, they cleaned our messy room daily to a tip top condition. This property got a hidden gem their swimming pool. Unfortunately I do not recommend the Restaurant located in level 1, poor service standards and horrendous staff attitude. I met two gentlemen called "Jay" and "Roshan" at the waiting staff, very kind and attentive for guests needs at all the times. This hotel located in the heart of the city and easy to access nearest attractions, eateries, and transport.

Staff were terrific in sorting out a very quiet room for us as requested. Our room, whilst a bit aging, was clean, large and very comfortable. The pool area was very relaxing but if the temperature of the pool and spa was increased more, it would have been perfect. Something that can easily be rectified. The breakfast was buffet with lots of great options and barista coffee, excellent. Enjoyed a delicious dinner with staff efficient and friendly. Really good location and great parking. Thank you to all for making our stay so welcoming and comfortable. We look forward to visiting again.

This hotel is so convenient for the CBD and all that Canberra has to offer. Our room was large & well appointed, the bathroom clean & the bed comfortable. The staff at reception are helpful and courteous. We did not use the restaurant as we had friends in the city and ate out. The Novatel is well situated with many eateries within walking distance. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Visiting our daughter for a weekend, we chose to stay at the Novatel Canberra, it is in a great location just on the edge of the shopping and dining precinct, and has car parking that is easy to access. They were fairly busy due to relaxation of some Covid restrictions, but check in was smooth. Rooms are generous and comfortable, and the indoor pool is always popular. We chose to have dinner in the restaurant after our long drive, whilst the service was good, it would benefit from a slightly expanded or more consistent menu, The current menu is a little confused not being cafe, nor a quality dinner menu, but the quality of the food was quite good. Breakfast was excellent, however on our departing morning, some issues at the restaurant forced us to abandon our reservation and travel outside to a local cafe around the corner which was quite quirky and had outstanding food. checkout was seamless with staff efficient and courteous, and were pleasantly greeted with our car being brought around to the front of the hotel. Overall our stay was quite good and will definitely stay again

Stayed at the Novotel, breakfast was included, we had a booking, people were walking out, as they had being waiting for over an hour, we asked if we will be waiting for an hour also they said they would try there best to have our breakfast serviced quickly, our breakfast was serviced in an hour, no explanation why, we did ask, juice, cereal, things were missing in the buffet, lot of disappointed customers and people were walking out

Just had two nights at Novotel but enjoyed our stay very much. Room was quite spacious and well appointed. Wi fi worked well. Comfortable bed. Breakfast on level 1 was very good. Excellent location right at Civic with buses and tram right at the door. Only slight gripe is that parking in underground car park is a bit clunky, not sure why you need a voucher to exit the car park.

Each time I stay (because of work-only, limited choices) here at Novotel Canberra, it has gotten worse. The place is old, dark, smelly and gives an overall unpleasant feel. Everything feels unprofessional, even this survey, which I have already been asked to fill in a form for Novotel, now it's been requested by Accor again, shows how the customer experience is.

2 Stars only because the Reception staff was friendly and welcoming. Other than that I am glad that I only booked for one night and was able to book much better place for rest of my stay in Canberra(that too for less money). The place is outdated, carpets stained and stinky. Not recommendable.

Hotel looking very tired! Not enough staff in the restaurant for breakfast. Due to COVID, table service only. There were only 3 staff on the floor to attend to customers and they weren’t coping! Overall, the hotel requires a make over.

This was a grood post lockdown stay and celebrate. Spent with good friends in the centre of Canberra. Staff were friendly and as accor members we gir a great upgrade. Food was good and rhe menu had just been changed. Service of meal was slow, somethings dont change. Overall great

Filled with dust

I have sent emails and have had no reply with pictures of dust thickness that has effected us and couldn’t sleep from not breathing well. Price wasn’t cheap there was better quality available for cheaper prices

A great Disappointment

According to my husband the worst Accor he has stayed in! And he is seldom critical. I felt the same and was shocked at the lack of services available, the poor organisation, the delays at reception, no phones answered by reception, housekeeping or dinning, carpark unmanned and disorganised, lifts didn't work, room door key repeatedly faulty, 1 hour wait for a table at the restaurant, although we had booked, incorrect food brought after the long wait. We were glad to leave and hope I don't need to return. I have recently started staying at hotels again after the Covid scare, but this hotel needs much improvement to draw people back. I used my free night and am so sorry I wasted it on this hotel. I hope the rest of my Accor membership proves to be more worthwhile, this certainly wasn't.

at check in I was advised to move my car from out the front although it was in the drop off zone, we were given the wrong room, we had booked a room with balcony, had to go back to reception where check in woman did not apologise or even seem to care, overheard her colleague say it was her who changed booking..we were told what time we had to take breakfast however the person checking in next to me was given choice..waited 1 hour for first coffee at breakfast and the food was very disappointing poached eggs hard, cold and I think precooked one piece of dry toast breakfast room badly managed.Bed old and lumpy mattress pillows old and like tissue paper

Hotel was great however understaffed at the moment compared to previous visits, slow service for breakfast and the valet parking, the staff in the restaurant required managers to assist with the taking of orders, however eye fillet I had was one of the best I have had for sometime.

Location was the only positive. Understaffed and run down hotel, not of usual Novotel standard. Room cramped and with old fashioned beds and poor quality bedding. Toilet and shower need replacing. Combination basin/sink is impractical. Staff in restaurant tried hard to please but were hampered by nw and not enough staff. Reception staff in training without support. Points still not allocated and $ not removed from pre-allocation 10 days after stay. Location is great as short walk to restaurant hub.
