It was quite disappointing initially because i was informed About the unavailability of connecting room 4.5 hours prior to my arrival at hotel. I booked Novotel because it has connecting room & all safe Certification. But i didn’t get connecting room. But overall it was a good stay.

I never complain abt my stay, but this time I think I need to do it, hopefully Novotel Semarang will listen and develop the hotel. 1. CHECK-IN, need to wait 20 minutes for the long queue, there’s only 1 front officer during check in time. After 20 minutes, someone showed up and help their colleague for check in process. Check in process up to another 20 minutes and room wasn’t ready, they said I need to wait 45 minutes for my room. They don’t have card jacket for the room key, they will give you white envelope (the one that you will use to send a letter), no welcome drink voucher (for ALL member). Such a “good” impression :) 2. OLD AND CREEPY HOTEL. I was shocked because there’s an old DUSTY sofa in the room. And also as I remember on their website, the room looks good and bright, the reality is LACK OF LIGHT. Shower and bathtub already broken, feels like taking a bath in the public bathroom. 3. MUSTY SMELLS. When I enter the bathroom, I found the shower curtain had a musty smells, it makes the whole bathroom smells so bad. I call housekeeping, then they came and spray the fragrant room spray. Thankyou but, SOMETHING THAT MAKES MY BATHROOM SMELLS SO BAD WHICH IS THE SHOWER CURTAIN IS STILL THERE. After an hour my bathroom smells musty again. Geez. 4. BLOODY BLANKET. On the second day of my stay, I figured out my blanket had a blood stains. I still have a picture of it. Please, kindly throw it, it’s not hygiene for anyone. DISGUSTING!!!!! Please kindly renovate the hotel, use capex budget wisely to make your hotel stay in the business. This is not Accor Hotel standard. I WON’T come back to this hotel, this hotel made me regret to stay in Accor hotel. I won’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Thankyou.

During Checking, they give me room N0#118 where still not ready and still clean up. I was thinking that Novotel as International standard where will follow new normal guideline. as I know room need to be quarantine before use for another guest, at least minimum 4 hrs, and sealed!. some hotel take more than days to quarantine the room. correct me if I'm wrong! But what I got during stay at Novotel Semarang they give me the room where just clean up, may me the guest before me just check out. and i need to wait about 15 to 20 minute before they give me the key.

This is my second stay within 2 months in Novotel Semarang and this time I tried the suite room. Unfortunately, it did not as I expected because of the view outside is not as good as superior room, the windows were dirty made it worst view, the sofa was no longer comfortable to be seated, shower and wc panel were jammed and needed repair, the sound system did not work, the TV was too small for a suite room. I booked directly by phone and was told that extra bed was free of charge but when I got there I was told there was additional charge although finally I got it for free. I ordered 2 cheese burgers for lunch but they were spicy so my daughter could not eat it, even I felt too spicy. However, the restaurant staff gave us complimentary milk shake and cheesy fries as well as sincere apology

Everything is good. Food is nice, hospitality is nice, the nuance is just right and the location is very close to Semarang point of Interest. Even the little thing, as shower kit are using sustainable goods (RSPO certified). The only thing that prevent me for giving full rate is the pillow is kind of on the flat side. I hope it is only in my room.
