We checked in on November 8 around 3 pm. The receptionist who checked us in had a trainee to teach but he was so professional that we didn’t notice that he had to teach a trainee. He helped us with parking and was absolutely great. The next day the same guy helped us with restaurant recommendations. Unfortunately name tag is very small and we couldn’t read his name. But please express our great appreciation to him. He has a small beard if it helps.

Hotel and room was very clean and warm staff were brilliant couldn’t help us enough breakfast was enjoyable hotel was centrally situated, will definitely be back city was very friendly there is lots of places to visit and lots of walking you need to bring comfortable shoes

No issues with room or hotel apart from a rude member of staff at check in. I had checked before arriving that I was able to request a fan in my room upon check in. I needed this as I get very hot at night. I was told fans were not supplied. I said I had checked and this was incorrect. In fact I had found the information on Tripadvisor from a customer service representative of the hotel. He then asked me to find the information online to prove fans were available! What a cheek! I was tired after my travels but started hunting around to find the information online which was quite stressful. All the while he was frowning and pulling very strange faces. It was all very odd indeed. He then stated that if all the rooms wanted fans they would have a huge problem. I was lost for words. After much discussion he put in a request to housekeeping and, hey presto, a fan was delivered. Such a drama queen should not be front of house. He gave an awful first impression of an otherwise good hotel.

Good location but poor quality and rude staff

I recently stayed at this hotel, expecting the reliable service and quality I’ve experienced at other ibis locations, as I’m an ALL member. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of that standard. The hotel’s location is convenient, but that’s about the only positive aspect. The rooms were underwhelming, with low-quality bed linens and cushions that felt old and uncomfortable. Even more disappointing was the staff – they were not only unhelpful but outright rude at times. Astonishingly, none of the staff could speak English or any other language besides the local one, which is surprising for a hotel catering to international tourists. I’ve always trusted ibis and its partners to provide a consistent, guest-centered experience, but this was my first truly disappointing stay. I hope management takes note and makes the necessary improvements.
