Lacking some love.

We have stayed in this hotel many times and have given it 5* reviews previously. However, this time it, was very disappointing. The rooms are much the same - a bit tired - but a good size, good air con and plenty of hot water for the shower. Not much to really complain about there, although we do feel that an Executive room (the biggest room) should have 'executive' extras, to truly make it an upgrade room., at the extra cost. The gardens are beautiful, as always and well lit after dark. Disappointments were numerous, particularly the quality of the breakfast. We found it basic and lacking in tastiness. Pork bacon cooked to order, with pre-cooked omelettes, is just not on , nor is the margarine disguised as butter and please don't call that brown sludge 'baked beans'.Plenty of asian style food, which is good but not everyone eats that. What's with the yoghurt in shot glasses too? No pineapple or mini bananas either. The pools were excellent but quality of food and service from the Breeze Bar were definitely needing attention. We couldn't eat the club sandwich and waited 45 mins for a pizza and 15mins to get a glass of red wine one evening and there were 5 servers. We know 'Bali time' when on holiday but seriously? Overall, the service was great although there seemed to be more trainees than in previous visits. Not a bad thing but overall, we found that the overall service lacked polish and attention. This hotel needs a bit of a 'kick in the pants', just to get it back on track. it has always been a good experience to stay here but frankly, we think the standards have slipped in recent times.

Mecure Hotel Sanur was in great location. We booked an executive room which was located far away from the restaurant and beach (so do not book executive room). The food and drinks was sub ordinary - go to beach restaurant next door (retro). For an executive room it was dirty to say the least. Sorry we won't be back there. Generous 3 star at most .

Location of hotel is great, has a wonderful pool. Staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms do need some TLC. The bathroom had some cracks in the tiles, chipped paint and in need of new grouting. And some chipped paint in the bedroom. But not a bad place

Sun standards facilities No Hot Water

Review of the Mercure Sanur Bali The good ( not much) , the bad ( a fair bit) and the ugly ( lots) I booked 3 Deluxe Rooms through the Accor Plus app thinking I would receive the best price, rooky mistake. I booked the non refundable rate as it was considerably cheaper. I booked three rooms for my family , asking that two be interconnecting as it was for 2 children aged 2 and 5.I paid the equivalent of $670 Australian dollars (7,104,502 Indonesian Rupees) per room. The general public rate in the foyer on the day of check in was only $2 more per day, so not much of a discount for paying for the Accor Plus card. Less than an hour after I booked, the exact same rooms were available 1,572,999 IDR cheaper. This was 4,719,0000 less for the rooms so about $470 Australian less. I realised that I booked non refundable but sent an email to Accor Plus but was basically told bad luck, prices fluctuate. As I was staying close by, I went to Mercure Sanur two days before check in to ensure we had an interconnecting room. They showed me the rooms and all was good. On check in, we were given totally different rooms. One room was ready early (1.30 pm ) and we were told the second room would be available around 2 pm but our third room would not be ready until 6 pm. Apparently someone had paid for a late check out, but we had also paid for the day. On entering the first room, we realised there was no hot water. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they said we have issues with the pipes and the hotel was working on it. So they knew before we were given the room that no hot water was available. When a staff member ushered us to the second room, the room for our two small children, he advised us to leave the door open as the room was a bit smelly. It stank a damp musty, mouldy smell. That room also had no hot water. Finally we received the key to the last room it also had no hot water. In addition to this, they renovations were taking place in the room directly above. This went on for the entire 5 days of our stay, working from early morning to well into the evening. It was constant noise, smashing tiles off the wall, cutting tiles etc. Every morning we inquired about the hot water situation and kept getting told they were working on it. We asked to change rooms, but they had no interconnecting rooms available. Finally after 3 nights of no hot water we rang reception and asked to meet with the manager. She was not there at the time but did visit the next day. She assured us we would have hot water in at least one of the room by the following day( the last day of our stay). We were getting quite upset by this stage. She did give us free breakfast for 2 nights but this was not much compensation for the state of the rooms we stayed in. Still after 5 long days, when we checked out, no hot water was available. All our concerns were brushed aside for the entire 5 night stay. The good, the lovely smiling staff. Beachfront location. The bad. Poor maintenance, continually being told hot water would be fixed tomorrow or we are working on it when nothing was being done to address the issue. The ugly. putting people into room they knew were sub standard.

Wonderful oasis for couples and families at Mercure Resort Sanur

We always find the Mercure Resort Sanur a quiet and relaxing oasis for ourselves. The setting is perfect right on the beach with shady trees, tables and chairs, lounges, good views and nice sea breezes as well. The rooms are spacious and always clean. Well serviced without being intrusive. Maintenance of the exteriors and interiors is carried out on an ongoing and rotational basis. It's not a new resort and the rooves are thatched, which we love. They are expensive and time consuming to maintain though. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient, providing excellent services quickly and professionally. A special mention to Kory Kyna and the team on Reception. Mala in the Pandawa Restaurant is excellent as is Gita. Thank you all very much
