Lovely few days spent in Vienna for the Coldplay concert. The hotel was ideal for us. AS others have commented, it is a bit dated, but everything was functional. I think ours was a standard room but it was large and spacious, good air con, good shower with hot water, and fridge which was useful for storing water (supermarket right at the end of the alley). We didn't have breakfast but had pastries at a nearby cafe. We did, however, eat at the two restaurants, which are connected to the hotel. We found the prices consistent with other restaurants in the city, and enjoyed an evening drink in two in the courtyard bar area. The staff across the hotel were very welcoming. The only slight negative was that our room was incredibly dark and despite two large windows it was difficult to get any kind of natural light in due to the surrounding buildings. This wouldn't discourage me from a return visit. The hotel was well located between two underground stations and plenty of public transport options nearby. Despite situated on a very busy road, we were struck at how quiet it was in the hotel itself.

Unusual hotel based along a courtyard. Rooms were huge and well furnished, although a bit tired. Bathroom big but tiled like a hospital, didn't feel like a hotel. Water took several minutes to get hot which was wasteful and annoying. Hotel is in a good location close to transport and shops/restaurants. Just needs a bit of updating and it would be great

Visited on a couples weekend away. Booked a standard room with queen sized bed and was placed in a privilege room on second floor. Breakfast was standard for your expected continental hotel breakfast, with cold meats, bread, cereal, eggs and sausages/breakfasts. Room was basic, furniture was nothing special and TV was placed at a funny angle to which it was not practical to actually watch the TV but this wasn’t a concern. Room was larger than we expected and the spaciousness was welcome. Nothing was broken and room was clean. Staff were very polite and friendly, both at front desk and at breakfast. Great location, 5 minute walk from nearest subway station which had great links to all attractions.

For the price an excellent choice in Vienna

We spent 3 nights here in July 2024. The location of thr hotel is a 10 or 15 min walk from town, but well situated for trams and U and S Bahn stations. Its a 5 min walk from Vienna Mitte station (Handy if you are coming from the airport) and a tram line runs close to the rear of the hotel/ We arrived after midnight and the staff were great - welcoming and professional. The only area one could complain about is that the rooms are possibly a bit dated.... but you don't come to stay in the room. Everything worked brilliantly - great wifi, hot water, good TV, comfy bed etc etc... all the things you need. Breakfast very good - again staff were super and the choice and quality were great. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here - for the price it was excellent.

The Good: Great location - the hotel is situated on either side of a pedestrian alley/gasse which it owns which means for a city centre hotel it is quiet. It is also a pleasant and safe 20 minute walk from the very centre of Vienna. There are plenty of restaurants ad bars within 5 minute walk. For groups there are two coach sparking spaces close by. Parking is free overnight in the nearby streets, but there is a hotel underground carpark if you need it (24€). Breakfast. As you would expect with Mercure. There is a chef on hand to prepare omelettes/eggs as you prefer. The room, however is somewhat cramped Room rates seemed reasonable for the location (but see bad below) The Not so Good (nothing really bad) Like many hotels, they try to avoid daily room servicing unless you specifically request it. I wouldn't mind this, if they would discount subsequent nights to compensate, but, of course, they don't. There is also only one complimentary bottle of water in your room regardless of the number of bights you stay. All this seems petty, nasty and disingenuous. The rooms are somewhat dated and the hotel will need refurbishment soon. But they are clean, quiet and functional, so you get what you pay for. Restaurant: I only dined here one night. The food seemed rather expensive for what seemed like pre-prepared meals that had been simply heated up. But it is was ok. I would use this hotel again both as an individual and as a group.
