Lovely hotel in Cairo. The staff is very friendly ( the people at the pool, cleaners on the 10tj floor and reception area especially) which made our stay very pleasant. Breakfast was amazing too. I recommend!

Hotel was excellent- clean and staff super friendly.
Restaurant service slightly slow.
DO NOT pre order taxi from the hotel - it’s a complete RIP off. Cost me $149 one way, from Cairo airport to the hotel. Uber cost $7. $149.00 is disproportionate to $7.00. Essentially they rip you off - very insincere in what they charge here. Order uber or normal taxi from the airport - you’d end up paying no more than $25.
Anyway - when complained to the hotel they said the organised pick up by the hotel is operated by a 3rd party - irrespective left a bad taste.

The last time I visited this property was back in 1987/1988 when I was just seven years old, so stepping through the doors brought back an immediate wave of nostalgia.
What made our vacation truly memorable was the outstanding staff. Their genuine warmth, welcoming smiles, and seamless approach to addressing guest needs made all the difference for a family looking to relax and unwind. A special mention goes to Zekra, who handled our check-in seamlessly and consistently followed up throughout our stay with true professionalism.
In such a competitive hospitality landscape, your team's attitude is what sets you apart. The positive culture cultivated by leadership shines through every interaction, creating a wonderfully welcoming environment.
The only minor drawback was the pool area. My children felt a bit disappointed as the pool appears noticeably larger in online photos, so an update or refresh of the pool zone would really elevate the overall family experience.
Overall, a lovely stay, and we look forward to returning!

Your message is clear, but I’d make it more professional and structured while keeping the disappointment firm:
I arrived at around 10:30 PM, but unfortunately, my room was not ready. I was only able to check in after 11:10 PM, which made for a very disappointing arrival experience.
What was particularly disappointing was the lack of any apology, compensation, or even a courtesy call to acknowledge the inconvenience.
The reception service was also below expectations. The receptionists were not particularly polite or helpful. In particular, Seif left me waiting at the reception and went into the office without excusing himself or explaining the situation. This was unprofessional and made an already frustrating experience even worse.
The only positive interaction I had was with Mr. George from Sales, whom I met during my stay. He was courteous and took the time to personally extend his apology, which I genuinely appreciated.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and reviews both the check-in process and the level of service provided by the reception team to ensure that other guests do not have a similar experience.

I have stayed at Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah several times recently, for both business and leisure, and with every visit, the hotel feels more and more like a home away from home.
I was here for a vacation about two months ago, followed by two business trips within the same month, with my most recent stay being just last week. I am already planning my next vacation at the end of September, and I am genuinely looking forward to being back.
What makes Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah special is not only the location and the hotel itself, but most importantly, the people. A special thank you to the wonderful team at the lounge on the 16th floor, especially the lovely lady who took such great care of me throughout my stay. Unfortunately, I honestly forgot her name, but I hope the management can identify her and pass on my appreciation. A special thank you as well to Thamer for his excellent service and genuine hospitality.
I would also like to extend my appreciation to the team at Window on the Nile, especially Elias and Amir. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and warm hospitality make every visit a pleasure.
Whether I am visiting Cairo for business or taking some time off for leisure, Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah always gives me the comfort and sense of familiarity I am looking for. After several stays, it genuinely feels like my home in Cairo.
