Sofitel was amazing. The rooms and staff were exceptional. Food was good, though sometimes quality control on burning the grill items was not the best. Besides this, it was a great experience and we really loved the spa. We would stay here again on our next visit at Cairo. My one recommendation would be to improve the touchpoints with restaurant goers as it seemed their restaurants' waiters weren't paying much attention to the visitors.

Stunning Property, but Disappointing Service

We recently stayed at this hotel and, without a doubt, the property itself is stunning. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean and maintained. The view of the Nile is absolutely breathtaking, and the pool and restaurants are beautifully designed. However, unfortunately, our overall experience was significantly marred by the poor service we encountered. We opted for the half board package, which turned out to be quite disappointing. The menu was supposed to change daily, but we were served the exact same dishes on different nights. Additionally, most of the waitstaff had a very limited understanding of English, making it extremely difficult to communicate or resolve issues. Thankfully, towards the end of our stay, the restaurant manager took it upon himself to personally attend to us, and he was very attentive. However, despite his efforts, I would not recommend the half board option due to the clear disorganization. Another frustrating aspect was that, with the half board package, you’re only allowed to dine and have breakfast in one specific restaurant, despite the hotel offering several other dining options. It was disappointing not to have the opportunity to experience the variety, and we felt as though we were being treated as “second-class” guests because of our meal plan., even thought we were paying more than other guests to have it. Additionally, service was consistently slow, with food taking far too long to arrive. We also had an unpleasant encounter with the guest relations staff. When we requested to watch the belly dance show at another restaurant (not included in our package), just to watch without dining, we were met with arrogance. It wasn’t until we escalated the issue that we were finally allowed to enter. The restaurant was nearly empty, and the waitstaff didn’t even inform us that dining was a requirement to watch the show. There was no reason to treat us so poorly. On multiple occasions, we were even questioned by staff as to whether we were hotel guests and were prevented from sitting in certain areas, which felt quite hostile. In summary, while the hotel itself is impressive and visually stunning, we felt unwelcome and poorly treated throughout our stay. The service did not live up to the beautiful surroundings, leaving us with a very disappointing overall experience.

From home in UK to my second home in Cairo

Another happy comfortable stay at my second home Sofitel Elgezeira in Cairo along the magnificent river Nile. What I like about this hotel its unique position and the excellent service provided by the staff everywhere in the hotel, that is what I keep coming back to this wonderful hotel

This hotel is well located in the city of Cairo. The room was very clean and spacious. The panoramic views from the windows provide impressive spectacle of the Nile. The customer service was great. They treated customers with respect and responding to their needs in a timely manner.

My favorite Hotel in Cairo. Best location on the nile! The lobby has a wonderful view of the nile, as have all restaurants of the hotel. All rooms have a nile view. While having Breatfast or enjoying your dinner you can sit direclty on the nile. no other Hotel in Cairo has that.
