Welcoming transit hotel opposite CAI airport

Well-run transit hotel with pool, nice lunch buffet, everything reasonably priced. Free hotel bus, motivated, professional reception, approachable manager who helped me with local flight booking. The recently visited Accor hotels in Rio/BA could learn a lot from Egyptian hospitality in the Accor group. Would happily stay again when changing planes in CAI. (The doors could be adjusted to reduce noise).

Semen on window, tech & room service complaints

ale semen dripped down my window, tech support only fixed USB by removing the TV & leaving it on constantly while I worked, which was distracting. Room service demanded cash that cost me a trip downtown to see famous souk (I had kept just enough local currency for that). Breakfast was uneven at best, with inedible Chinese noodles (perhaps they forgot the "secret sauce"?) and curried vegetables also sauceless but heavily dosed with too-hot spices. Of the Western baked goods, none seemed fresh except the odd cheese croissants (spicy cumin-scented filling is not what I expected). "Pineapple juice" was artificial, orange juice appeared later. On the positive side, the room was exceptionally quiet, though 150 meters from reception. Room service delivered soupy, tasteless alfredo without spoon, so pasta was cold as the grilled vegetables when delivered. The manager simply looked weary when I showed the semen-on-window photos, no apologies. However, the ladies in hallway were helpful & all else was spotless in room -- I hope they are not blamed for not looking overhead for semen stain, as only a man would leave such filth.

Evening between friends

I come often in Novotel Cairo, it is a big hotel but you can find family atmosfer, hotel people are gentle and always available. In the evening normally I stay in resturant bised swimming pool, here Mr Khaled and his colleagues put you in condition to enjoy food and relax.

Rude receptionists and Terrible Coordinations

I was on transit in cairo airport. The Egypt air employees gave me a transit voucher to that terrible hotel. It seems that the employees in the transit desk and the hotel never coordinated, so according the hotel employee (I think his name is Amro), they are full and no longer accepting transit passengers, so they just scribbled another hotel name and said I needed to go there. Needless to say they were extremely rude and they could have handled it in a better way. Of course Egypt Air is also to blame. I am never going to use that airline or that hotel.

Bit of a shambles

We checked in very late but I am platinum and had given plenty of notice. Beware that breakfast unlike every other Novotel I have stayed in is not included and do not expect great service. The Suite was great, bed was very very comfortable but check in and check out and service was chaotic. Its the only Accor hotel where there is no private checkin for Accor, there is no lounge and the staff can be quire surly which is a shame as it's a nice hotel.
