Only suitable as a one-night transit hotel

When booking the IBIS Hotel at Schiphol Airport at Amsterdam, do NOT book the IBIS BUDGET Hotel for more than one night, as this is only suitable as a transit hotel for back-packers! The IBIS Budget Hotel is a block right behind the main IBIS Hotel at Schiphol Airport, in which we should have booked. My wife and I booked a four-night staying in the IBIS Budget Hotel hoping for a nice citybreak holiday as a base to see Amsterdam and the Netherlands big mistake! Let’s start with the positives – the two hotels have a very convenient free shuttlebus running from and two the airport. However we found it gets very crowded and you often have a long wait for it at the airport. The hotel room is very small, yet they put a Super King-Size bed in it, which you can hardly get around and had only two very small pillows. We read these reviews and one complained about the hotels’ flood lights shining in the room, so we requested one at the back, which was ice and quiet and the bed was very comfortable, but that’s where the positives end! There is no kettle, hair shampoo, hair dryer, safe or mini fridge in these small rooms. You are not even given glass or plastic drinking glasses, but PAPER cups on the sink. There is a TV on the wall, but it’s not mounted centrally for some reason. The toilet is a small cubicle with no windows or ventilation, so basically a ‘sweat box’. If your partner farts in there or has some ‘disaster’, beware!! The window blind in our room had holes in it and the window itself had cobwebs on it and looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned for months. The walls were so thin that we could hear someone snoring in an adjacent room. Okay, this is a ‘budget’ hotel which is just a bit cheaper than the main hotel, but surely some prisons are better than this? Breakfast is a cold continental buffet breakfast advertised on the website as 5 Euros extra p/p, but turned out to be 12 Euros each, so for the two of us meant 24 Euros just for that! There is a McDonalds across the road, so we went there for our breakfasts. We will not be staying there again and suggest if you are on a Citybreak with your partner, so find a better hotel in Amsterdam.

Bare bones motel 6.

Very low end. They have flood lights directed at the building shining all night into the window of every room and say it is for security and so the fire department can find them. BS. Bottom sheet bunched up. Bare bones Motel 6. Shuttle bus in jammed full with people with lots of luggage. OK if you have little money and are not looking for any amenities. Would not stay here again.

A Disappointing Stay

I stayed at ibis Budget Hotel Amsterdam for three days, and my experience was far from satisfactory. Room Comfort & Service: The room was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. I had to complain about it twice and got a cold response from the reception. I asked if they can do something about it and they simply said NO and that's all! I had to stay in the same room for the entire duration. Amenities & Cleanliness: The in-room TV was practically useless, and the remote control was noticeably dusty—probably nobody used/touched it ever!. Additionally, it would be nice if the housekeeping staff knock before entering the room. Value for Money: The room size did not justify the price, and additional charge of 15 Euro fee for early check-in is absurd. For tourists seeking a relaxing and comfortable stay, the amenities and service simply do not match the cost. Location & Transport: On a positive note, the hotel's location near the airport is convenient. Getting to the city center requires a 30-40 minute journey via public transport. Overall, while ibis Budget Hotel Amsterdam might work for a very short stay, I wouldn’t recommend it for more than a day if you’re looking for a relaxing or comfortable experience.

Very close to the airport, free shuttle bus service around the clock, easy access to the city center. Bus station across the street. Bus 397 to Leidsplain. Great for those who are staying one - two nights transiting in Amsterdam. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again, Although the room was tiny box and the bathroom in room 270 was kinda funny designed haha but I can’t complain according to how much I paid for that night.
