I stayed here with a large group from the US. The service was spotty and the rooms were not very clean. Many of us had showers that didn’t drain. We had issues being allowed to order food from the bar in the evening. The hostess requested each member in our group to give their name and room number and wouldn’t allow anyone not staying at the hotel to sit down at the empty bar order a simple pizza with the rest of the group. We decided to eat elsewhere. Another night we were simply chatting with a friend who was sitting at the bar, and again the hostess demanded our names and room numbers to be allowed to stand in that area, just a few feet away from the general lobby. We left. We also had extremely poor room cleaning service. Some of the members in our group had tested positive before arriving at the hotel. We were told that those who were positive were not allowed to eat the breakfast in the hotel and their rooms would not be serviced until they had passed their isolation period, which was only one day into our 5-night stay at the hotel. This seemed very reasonable to us. However, “due to covid concerns” not a single one of the rooms of our group were serviced FOR OUR ENTIRE STAY, regardless of if the occupants had tested positive or negative, regardless of the fact that those who had tested positive had recovered by the end of the stay. The hotel told us that they could not force their housekeepers to expose themselves to covid, which is somewhat reasonable, but we never saw the housekeepers wearing masks or taking any other covid precautions. I was sure that it was simply a way to slack off work on the last morning when MULTIPLE guests in our group had their rooms BARGED INTO over 3 hours before checkout (at 8:45am). If the house cleaning staff wouldn’t even go in our rooms while we were out all day long, how come they were so eager to clean up our rooms WHILE WE WERE STILL IN THEM? Don’t stay here, the service was awful. (The woman who ran the breakfast, however, was very kind. There are always exceptions, of course.)

We stayed here as a family in early August and enjoyed our stay. The staff are hard-working and friendly; I particularly liked the lovely lady in the bar at night that served us; she was great with my two girls and made them mocktails which made their day. Parking is tight, especially at the weekend; I have a Tesla, so I need to electric charge it, but they have four charging points (you will need the app)

We stayed as a family of 3, for 3 nights, in a queen superior room and we had overall an excellent experience. The hotel is well placed less than 10 minutes walk for the London Bridge tube station, the buzzy Borough Market, and less than 5 minutes walk from the south bank at Southwark bridge. The style is very modern, lighty and tidy. Our room was very comfortable and clean, the TV, like many Novotel establishment nowadays, is equipped with a casting device, which is a great add-on especially for children. The bathroom was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent offered a wide range of food from English to continental options. Some fresh vegetables and a slight larger selection of cured meat, cheese, and bread would make it absolutely perfect. The hotel also has a modern British style restaurant which, according to my 7 year old, serves the best burger ever :). The rest of the food was very good too. The price is in line with (if not slightly better than) all London establishments in similar areas and of similar level. Definitely a great option for central London.

On arrival the check-in wasn’t very smooth. The initial lady asked us to wait a moment and then disappeared, the second lady abruptly asked for our surname, started to look out booking and then took a phone call. The third guy finally managed to check us in (asking for our surname and giving us a key). He was fine but the other two ladies definitely need to polish their customer service skills working with the general public. On arrival to our room, it was lovely and clean as you would expect from Novotel. They ask you to WhatsApp them if you need anything. There were four of us and we were only provided with two of everything except towels. We asked for another two glasses and two mugs. 10 mins after we sent the message, it had been read however they never came. The hotel itself is fine and in a reasonable location for getting around. Plus our view of the Shard and in a quiet room was just what we needed. Not sure the air con could deal with the heat though but it was not too much of an issue, just made it a bit stuffy. The staff at breakfast were very good.

I' ve been there with my family. The hotel is very nice and super good for the location, with nice and clean rooms. Reception staff was very friendly, specially Caterina, was really nice and helpful. Breakfast was really good, higly recommend!
