Avoid rooms near the stairs or reception

If you get put in room 117 ask to change! It's right near the stairs and reception so lots of noise late into the night and early in the morning. I didn't get to sleep until gone midnight then was woken up again at 6am. We asked to change rooms for our 2nd night and was put in room 149 which was so much better. Was warmer in that room too with a much bigger bathroom.

Basic essentials missing, I guess to create a differential between this hotel and an IBIS.

I was aware that the hotel is marketed as budget, but to find that there is not even a kettle in the room is taking the concept too far. Add to that the vinyl floor covering and the flashing light hidden under the chair rail (I guess it must have been put there just to cause additional discomfort) and you have an experience that you would not want to repeat.

This is very much what it says on the tin - budget! We wanted a room where we could have 3 adults sleep and not be forced into a second room which some of the more expensive chains do. But be warned, it is BASIC. Literally beds and a shower room, nothing else. I’d hoped for even just a tiny slow to boil kettle but I’d not fully checked the description and didn’t realise that wasn’t included in the room, so my mistake there. So the room: literally a box with a small window. No main light, only ones that are installed as part of the bed assemblies. Two plug sockets only. The shower was very slow to drain and risked flooding the shower room, toilet crammed into the tiniest gap, so if you are even remotely bigger than average, you can’t sit on it properly. we were issued two room cards - one worked, the other didn’t. The card slot to work the lights in the room was very temperamental. The overall area felt very neglected too. I wouldn’t say it felt unsafe, just uncared for - litter everywhere, and lots of those illegal delivery electric bikes. Parking was £10 for 24 hours, but when one of our group went to try and get our room cards sorted and no one was at reception, someone else was able to just type their details into the tablet and not pay, which seemed a little unfair for those of us who did pay! So overall, it was basic and it did serve its purpose as somewhere to sleep for one night, but even just adding a kettle to a room would help!

Never stay here. We paid for 2 rooms and 2 parking spaces in August 2025 for 3 nights. Two weeks after our visit we received a fine in the post detailing that we parked there without paying. After countless emails and phone calls with the hotel and the main Accor customer service telling us to ignore the letters as they would contact them to let them know everything had been paid for, after 5 months, the problem is still not resolved and we are being threatened with court action! I don’t know how many more times we will have to call and try to resolve this to get it out of the way but the management don’t seem bothered that they are causing undue stress by not taking action as we have been threatened with bailiff and court action for a charge paid for from the beginning! Not worth it!!!

In a very rough area near a big Tesco and not much else. Would not recommend walking around the local area. No pubs nearby. Do not get a kettle in room. Breakfast is a rip off, hardly anything there, not even egg. Staff not helpful. Wouldn't let me pay cash for a cup of tea. Will boycott for sure.
