The hotel itself is good, but unfortunately our stay was affected by a strong steak smell in the room we were allocated. We noticed the smell immediately upon check-in, but as we were tired from travelling, we decided not to raise the issue on the first night. Ironically, we ended up cooking steak ourselves that evening. However, the smell was already present before we checked in. On the second day, we provided feedback to the receptionist, who informed us that someone would check the room. We also spoke to the housekeeping staff, who suggested that the smell was caused by us cooking steak the previous day. We found this response quite offensive, as we had clearly explained that the smell was already there when we arrived. It felt as though our concerns were being doubted rather than taken seriously. When we returned later that day, the smell was still present despite being told that the issue would be checked and addressed. Unfortunately, the odour remained throughout the rest of our stay until we checked out. While the hotel has many positive aspects such as friendly morning breakfast lady ( the only one clearing tables around) that tells us how to explore the area, the way this issue was handled fell below what I would expect from a four-star hotel, especially under the Novotel brand. Based on this experience, I would not choose to stay here again Another thing is we have late check out upon checking in but was being asked again on the last day. Isn’t there in the records?
