Need a renovation

Stayed 2 nights in a standard twin room with 2 adults and 2 kids. Had read reviews so knew the hotel might be a bit average and I would definitely agree. Our room was in desperate need of a renovation. Walls and furniture all very marked, carpet stained and bathroom, particularly the shower was pretty gross. The room wasn’t serviced all day, had to ask reception but phone broken so had to go down and speak to them. Also Asked for fitted sheets to be put on the bed as only flat sheets which came off in the night. I was told they don’t have fitted sheets. They sent up some fresh cups but still no tea/coffee so had to ask again. They finally came in with new towel la while we were at dinner but left all the dirty plates/bowl etc. Pool/spa good but very busy in school holidays. Kids running up the corridor and yelling from 5.30am. Parking also expensive and difficult. We came back from dinner and couldn’t get a spot. Husband had to drop us off then go look for a car park in the dark/rain which wasn’t fun. Much cheaper than hotel parking however. Always had to wait at front reception as not enough staff and not overly friendly either. Overall, a very basic hotel, desperate for a renovation and won’t return.

Pros: - room was spacious and nice - location is excellent, very central - all staff were helpful and efficient - restaurant has nice food and reasonably priced with Accor discount (including room service) - buffet breakfast good. Barista coffee delicious. - pool/spa area is great (although often very crowded with kids- it was school holidays so to be expected) Cons: - housekeeping wasn’t amazing, things weren’t well cleaned and we had to request to have the room made up twice at 5pm when it hadn’t been done. - parking is expensive and fills up quickly, be prepared to find alternative options. Overall it was a very nice stay and I would recommend the hotel and be happy to stay again.

A Good Experience, But Bad Parking

It was a good experience. The rooms were very clean, but everything was very small. The shower was incredibly hard to control the temperature. The parking situation was awful, it was whoever gets in first gets the space, so even if you paid, if the carpark if full, you can’t use it. Also, people parked in places they weren’t supposed to. It was nothing special, but it was still good.

Hi ZDA0128 Thanks for providing your feedback - today we are actually replacing the pumps on the hotel water distribution system to smooth out the water delivery to each room. The hot water runs on a big loop throughout the building and over time you can get temperature fluctuations hence the work we are undertaking. Parking yes goes back to when the hotel was built wherein they provided for one in three rooms. Works Monday to Friday but not so well for weekends. We do have a number of parking facilities very nearby but appreciate the frustrations that can occur.

The Novotel was a great experience as a family. It was close to the mall so when ever we had dinner we could walk across the street and the mall was right there. The parking there definitely could have been better and you needed a card to turn the lights. Over all the Novotel was pretty good.

Parking yes we agree it is a bit of a sticking point - the hotel was built with carparks for one in three rooms - generally works well weekdays but not so much for weekends. Unfortunately, it's not something we can change. We do however appreciate you choosing us for your recent stay.

Booked a snowplay package but ended up paying the snowplay entrance fee when we got there. Miscommunication by their staff and nil proper endorsements between them led the situation. Tried to talk/ settle with reception team but no good or slight help. Very disappointing.

As per the normal process on booking the team contacted yourself to confirm when you would like to use your vouchers - this was booked for the Sunday. I also understand from our notes you'd requested multiple changes to the timing of this booking and ultimately as a result the team directed you to Corin Forest the voucher issuers so that your requests could be managed by them. Corin Forest confirmed you attended the day prior to your booking and without calling them to update the necessary changes and therefore they chose to issue you with a fee for entry. They also denied us a request for a refund on your behalf. Kind Regards
