Just meh everything about this hotel is just kind of meh the pool is horrible and dirty we didn't even swim in it the pictures are extremely edited it's nothing like the pictures rooms reasonable beds are ok not horrible but not amazing again just meh

Service has to improve - try to say "yes" or " we will try" - it makes people feel better about their work.

We stayed there for 3 nights with my two boys for a football tournament. Lots of other families stayed in Canberra for this same reason. However, we were quite surprised, myself and my children, on how uninterested the staff there was with us. Kids love some discussions with hotel staff, but there no one seemed to be interested. We asked a few times for small things, but answer was pretty much always a "no". Service was simply non- existent. Housekeeping hardly touched anything in our room. Front office team acknowledged us in the lobby just once. Only one young lady said good evening to us. We went through the lobby several times each day - no one seemed to notice us.

WE HAD OUR MOTORBIKE STOLEN IN HOTELS CARPARK we parked our car in the underground carpark of the hotel for a fee and the next morning we returned to our car to see our motorbike that was attached to a rack in our bike stolen. They cut the lock and slid it off. We also learned 2 other cars were broken into the same night The car park is not secure. The cage gate opened for us just when walking past it, no code no keycard access needed just walked straight in. Only cameras were upon exit and near the lifts. As for the hotel. It was clean, the rooms pleasant but basic. However bathrooms are not updated so terracotta tiles and 80’s style. We could also clearly hear TVs in next room. Breakfast was ok but charged if you wanted barista made coffee. We booked online through Accor app a king room, we were given a room with 2 singles! That was rectified. Will not stay here again as our trip was ruined due to crime at the hotel. We also noted many other complaints from guests about TVs not working, receptionist not answering internal calls, breakfast issues. I think Accors standard of hotels is dropping.

Definitely not a 4/4.5 star hotel

Pros: - Apartment was a good size and in reasonable condition. - location is convenient. - reception staff were friendly Cons: - breakfast buffet is absolutely dismal and a complete rip off. Regularly no plates/cutlery, buffet stations all empty (tomato’s and zucchini the only hot food left for over 20min), no bread, juices empty. Even when stocked it only lasted a couple of minutes and the selection was very limited. 1 staff member clearing tables and restocking things for the entire restaurant (other staff member registering people- they make sure you pay but don’t provide food!). - pool/gym are in a dungeon (you have to walk down the fire stairs to get to them!) and it was freezing and in a ridiculously tiny echoing/loud room. I doubt they are ever used. - beds are springy and I didn’t find them comfortable at all. - lots of areas of the hotel are in need of maintenance As an Accor plus member I have stayed in many Mantra properties and this was very disappointing for the price and star rating. If it was a 3-3.5 star property and breakfast was 1/2 the price it would be acceptable but not as it is currently advertised.

We often stay at Mantra on Northbourne and we always love it! From the friendly service on reception to the spacious, clean rooms and comfy bed - you can't go wrong. An added bonus of the location is also fantastic, being in the heart of Braddon with endless cafe's and restaurants to choose from and only a short walk to the Canberra City Shopping centre - you can't beat this location. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
