We had a 4 night stay and highly recommend Legend The Grand. The concierge service was 5 star+. Jonathan was very helpful as were others. The breakfast buffet was really breakfast and lunch for us and it was 5 star gourmet from the gourmet chefs at The Bridges restaurant. Location is excellent.

I am so pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel so much. Life doesn’t always turn out the way one anticipates, but cie la vi. Everyone from the front desk to management, and I mean everyone, was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were all well taken care of! The location of this hotel, with it’s great history, is amazing and the breakfast was delicious! Can’t wait to go back!

From the minute we arrived we encountered the surly doorman, a long wait at reception as more managers floated around then guests and general disinterest. No tour of the hotel was offered although others went on such a thing. The rooms are adequate but the toilet door doesn’t close properly. Breakfast quality is on a par with similar hotels but the service is haphazard , uncoordinated and poorly managed. Many people running around aimlessly and no clear management philosophy is in place. Coffee often doesn’t come, toast arrives at the wrong table and other similar errors are the order of the day. Housekeeping is simply pathetic. Cleaning poor, no replenishment of tea, mini bar, body gel, soap or cotton wool unless you call. To call isn’t easy as there’s a language barrier. I won’t return as the W is way better and the staff attitude is friendly and unpretentious. Total waste of money !

My family recently had the pleasure of staying one night at The Grand for an Amsterdam stopover on our way north. Although our stay in Amsterdam was too brief, I highly recommend this hotel! The hotel’s beauty and history really stand out, but the experience was greatly enhanced by the professional, courteous and kind interactions we had with Raluca, the front desk manager. She gave us a tour of the hotel with all its rich history, including the history of the Marriage Chamber, and did so with an articulate and intelligent demeanor. That would have been remarkable enough, but she went one step further. As it happened to be the birthday of our twin daughters (as well as their father!) all on the night we checked into the hotel on July 3rd, Raluca left some treats and a nice note and a beautiful photo book of Amsterdam in our room - what a delight it was to find this when we returned to the room after dinner with local friends. The photo book is now sitting on our coffee table back here at home as a reminder of our brief but memorable time in the beautiful city of Amsterdam, with the highlight being our stay at the Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam and our positive interaction with Raluca - she is the best! We can't wait to return!!

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at The Grand to celebrate our 15 year aniversary. Everybody contributed to a highly luxurious experience. We definitely recommend The Grand in case you are looking for a little paradise in city center of Amsterdam.
