My husband and I stayed at Novotel Sydney Olympic Park for 1 night when going to the Lady Gaga concert. The room itself was comfortable but there was some general wear and tear that needed attention. Nothing major. We utalised our welcome drink at the bar and also took advantage of the buffet breakfast. The F&B staff were polite and attentive and the buffet had a good selection of breakfast options. We also used the onsite carpark. Very easy to get a parking space and very reasonable in price. The only downside to our stay was the check-in process. As high level Platinum Members (now Diamond) we took advantage of the Gold/Platinum/Diamond check-in desk located to the side of the lobby. The young lady was lovely however must have been newer as she couldn’t answer simple questions eg confirming our breakfast was inc complimentary due to our loyalty level. Even if she was just covering someone’s break, the managers should be putting someone on this desk who knows the product/hotel inside out and can provide the loyalty guests with perfect service. Overall we would stay at this Novotel again.

I stayed here for a conference at another site in Olympic Park (the conference organizers booked it). Arriving early morning from the US, I was not surprised that a room wasn't ready. The guy at the desk took my phone number and said he'd call when it was ready. Never did. I walked around for quite some time and was sitting in the lobby when I noticed a lot of other guests checking in, so I went to the front desk and, oh, my room was ready. The room itself was mostly clean, with some hairs in the bathroom. The breakfast was ample but very crowded and they kept the door to the balcony open a lot, which made it pretty chilly inside.

The stolen umbrella!!!!

Unfortunately I left my umbrella in the Room at the Novotel on Sunday morning. I contacted them and was sent an email saying that 'I have reached out to our housekeeping team to confirm if we have your umbrella. Once I receive an update, I will notify you immediately.' By Thursday I had no reply. I contacted them again and was told that housekeeping did not find an umbrella in the room. I know exactly where I left my umbrella, so obviously it has been taken by housekeeping or they didn't service the room properly so did not find it. I thought the Novotel was a reputable hotel, but obviously not. It was very expensive for one night, but I was happy to pay that as it was close Accor Stadium. Disappointing that it cost so much to park and was told that to get a park we would have to arrive early, so the cost of parking was high. Actually just angry that I cannot get my umbrella back. I thought there would be no problem!!!!!!

Double Charged with no Refund

I am incredibly disappointed with the service i received at Novotel. I used the underground parking, and upon departure was charged twice for parking, and for a breakfast that I did not even use/attend. When I emailed novotel about this issue, after some persistence, they refunded the charged breakfast, but did not refund the extra charge for parking. It is now July, the charge was $147, and I am still trying to get that payment back. I will not stay at a Novotel again after this experience, and they have been increasingly unhelpful with resolving this issue, despite me being able to prove with bank records that I was double charged.

We stayed here 1 night after a concert with my daughters. Check in was quick and I got my members drink without any hassle. The room was a decent size, beds comfortable. The location was amazing. A quick walk from the train station and a short walk to both Accor and Qudos stadiums. The staff were friendly and helpful especially after we all came back from the same concert and lined up for the lifts. One male staff separated people by floors and allowed them to use alternate lifts which really sped things up. Checkout was easy and quick. A week after our stay I realised I had left an expensive jacket behind. Luckily housekeeping had found it and it was already in lost property. Staff were very friendly and helpful both on the phone and behind the desk when i went back to claim it.
