It was alright, but disappointing that the difference between room-service menu and restaurant menu wasn't made clear in the room. Also annoying that my room phone didn't work, so I had to go to reception to put in a room-service order, but still got charged the delivery fee.

old building, old rooms. Paid nearly 200 euros for a night. Paid the less for a Mariott room down town Amsterdam mind you. The difference is comfort is immense. Crowded bathroom. Wasn’t even light switch for the bathroom. No power outlets in. Bathroom. Nu usb ports in room. Very very small. Paid parking.

The Mercure hotel was reasonably priced compared to other 4 star hotels in Zwolle, but we found the hotel to be outdated and quite run-down (frayed carpets, damaged furniture). The restaurant was not very good and the atmosphere was quite bleak. Overall not happy with our stay.

The restaurant was surprisingly good, both in the evening and at breakfast. Rooms are generally comfortable but unfortunately everything is let down by lack of sound insulation between the rooms. I don't know what they were thinking when they constructed a hotel with zero sound insulation, the mind boggles.
