Hotel Mercure Paris La Défense Grande Arche 4 estrelas

Firstly - I think you should change the name of the hotel to something completely different to the other Mercure La Defense. It's ridiculous to have two hotels so close with the same name. Our taxi took us to the wrong one and we were told "this is always happening ". So we had to get another taxi back. Once we arrived at the correct hotel we realised it was in a great location for the arena la Defense where we were seeing Bruce Springsteen. It's literally five minutes walk which is lovely when you come out of the concert. There are lots of bars and restaurants so we never left the area. But there is a metro very close to get into the centre. Check in was very smooth and efficient and the staff were very helpful. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and great shower. Perfect place if you're going to a show at the arena.

We stayed 4 nights in the Residence part of the hotel so my comment is purely based on that. The residence rooms are housed in a separate building very close to the hotel and are with a little kitchenette and living room area. We were in room 526 which is a corner room and is quite spacious. First the good bits: the hotel is ideally located with the RER (High speed suburban trains) station next door to the hotel/residence. This makes access to central Paris extremely easy. The staff were overall friendly and helpful. The car park is right under the main hotel. On that point, we booked a parking space (in the same carpark) through One Park which turned out cheaper than directly through the hotel. Then the not so good bits: our room lacked a bit of tender loving care and while not outright dirty (to the point of contacting the management of the hotel), it was just not clean (in the way a hotel guest has the right to expect cleanliness). The walls around the shower had marks that proper and regular cleaning would deal with (that is probably connected to the fact these rooms are only cleans every 4 days during long stays). Shower gel/shampoo is provided in the shower but the sink part has to make do with a small bar of soap which looks cheap. The blinds in the kitchen were also dirty. The living room area was supposed to have a sofa bed which would have made the area flexible (sofa by day, bed by night) but instead there were 2 single beds, limiting the flexibility and day comfort. In general, the room lacked daily attention with curtains falling off hooks, doors difficult to close, plugs not securely attached to the wall and light switches that did not turn any lights on. It is a real shame because otherwise the whole set up is quite pleasant. I am just not convinced this helps create a positive image of the Mercure brand in a competitive environment.

Hello all, I am writing this thing not specifically a review but to beware tourists especially Indian visiting Paris. I stayed this hotel in July this year, and I must say it was a nightmare. I stayed in this hotel for 2 days of my 4 day stay in Paris, as I have to change the hotel after 2 days. They have two buildings one of which is the main hotel premises, and another tower adjoining it. We got our stay in the second tower , which was nothing more than a dormitory. The room was a very basic one, with nothing available in terms of toiletries, I don't know how come they are rated 4 star. Our room ac was not working, and when I complained they said the building ac plant has some problem and it can't be fixed that day. I asked them to change the room which they denied. Though it was hot, we some how managed that night , we opened windows which resulted in mosquito bites. The second day when I asked to correct ac, they said sorry, the technician has not come and you have to manage as we can't change the room. To add onto all this they didn't cleaned the room, which I was surprised to know is on chargeable basis. Just imagine yourself in this situation, you have paid for 4 star and you get less than a star. It was pathetic. As a result i have to book another hotel in the middle of night, and we actually ran away from there. They were not all apologetic for these services of them. In short I have paid almost 3 times for my stay for these two hotels I have booked. I would request every one please please do not stay at this hotel if you are planning to visit paris.

I stayed in this hotel for the first time and it was really good value for money. It's very close to la Défense, 30 s from RER A Nanterre Prefecture so easy to access by public transport even late. I definitely recommend!

We are very disappointed by the hotel. The gym is close, the “facilities” of the hotel not working, they gave us a room in separate building outside the main hotel and they dont even clean our bedroom… The hotel is super bad for the money we paid! We was able to find 3 or even 4 star hotel with lower amount of promotated facilities in a way cheaper price but at the end the only we will remember is the dirty bathroom walls, no cleaning, not even adding new toilet papers not even change our towels Really bad Please avoid!!!
