Reasonably priced and great room at Schipol

Wow. The lady who greeted us was friendly and efficient. Told us the mobility assistant would be with us early morning before we even checked in. Wonderful. The room was large with a great shower room. There were chairs and a desk. I had been expecting a roo. With a shelf bed and I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the room was. The carry in or out breakfast was lovely and reasonable. My only negative was there were no mugs for the tea and coffee. No problem the nice girl gave me two disposable cups. Edward the morning reception helped us onto the mobility assistance by calling our room. Very pleasant gentleman too. All in all will use this again as reasonably priced for an airside hotel. Bravo.

1: it was supposed to have WiFi: the WiFi didn't work: in fact the WiFi is apparently nothing more than the free airport WiFi 2: The thermostat did not work: it did nothing and the room was freezing: the thermostat "regulator" was nothing more than a cosmetic fixture 3: It was supposed to have a coffee maker: the electric socket also apparently did not work so there was no coffee maker in the room. In short, this was the most I have ever paid for a hotel room and the worst lack of functionality. I could have got a room at the Ibis for 4 times less and 4 times more utilities. Besides a bed, I got nothing but disappointment and excuses.

Awful rude receptionist- avoid if you can!

I booked a day room to rest in the airport after my flight was cancelled the night before. The receptionist I spoke with originally told me to come back every two hours to check if anyone had checked to so I could check in early. When I did so, the receptionist who had replaced him treated me like an inconvenience who was doing something wrong.

Expensive but highly recommended for overnight transfer to avoid long immigration queues etc

Transferring overnight through Schipol. Family of four in three rooms. Hotel is ideal - rooms and bathrooms are small but clean and comfortable. Temperature was fine and rooms were very quiet - all of us had a very good night's sleep. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. Lots of places for breakfast nearby, of course! Hotel not easy to find as signposting is inconsistent and arriving late at night at any airport never makes navigation easy. However using the airport app worked okay in the end. Also dinner options are very limited if you arrive late, although the hotel provided snacks.

A little slice of heaven in a very busy airport.

I'll be clear, I didn't WANT to stay at the Mercure. However, if you find yourself stuck in Schipol airport for whatever reason, or just need a place that's more comfortable than an airport bench to spend the night, this little hotel is perfect. The bed was very comfortable, the room immaculate, the water pressure in the shower is amazing, and the amenities (coffee, tea, water) are appreciated and complimentary. The soundproofing is excellent - I couldn't hear another soul in the place and every room was booked! Special thanks to Yara who, upon hearing that we were in need of a room, suggested that we return after 20:00 to inquire about availability. Luckily we were able to secure a room thanks to her excellent advice.
