This is such a heavenly place to stay in Hanoi with a very high standard of service and a legendary setting. It's the perfect retreat from the busy city while being very centrally located. There is a range of bars and restaurants within the hotel, all with their own unique setting. Rooms are very quiet and beautifully decorated. A true sense of luxury throughout. Don't hesitate - go there!

We returned to The Metrople in Hanoi recently and stayed in one of the newly created suites in the Historical Wing. Not only was the room immaculatley clean but also supremely comfortable. The whole ensemble actually consists of 3 rooms, the master bed/bath room, a study in the middle with a nice big desk and armoire and a sitting room with a sofa that is convertible to a bed, as well as another full bathroom. This arrangement is perfect for a family with kids or another family member as the suite can be accessed by two doors. Of course, everything works. The air condition is powerful and silent. There are plenty of strategically placed charging points and USB ports, the lighting is excellent and the room is completely sound proof and blacks out. The hotel is a destination by itself and has a multitude of restaurants and bars. Make sure to book with breakfast and inclusive of club lounge benefits. It is absolutely worth it. We tried breakfast in the Le Club Bar in the historical wing which serves buffet breakfast in a tropical conservatory style setting next to the garden and bamboo bar. My favourite breakfast place, however, is Beaulieu, the French Restaurant with adjacent terrace in the historical wing. One can choose from a set menu and the service is sublime, unhurried and to have a café crème and watch the morning traffic on the boulevard outside is absolutely amazing and such a lovely start to the day. Very chic, very Hanoi, very instagrammable! We also had dinner in the Vietnamese Restaurant and were not disappointed as there is nothing more romanctic than to sit out on the terrace, under the full moon with the smell of frangipani wafting through the air and sample the delicious Vietnamese cuisine. Angelinas is a bar and restaurant and we dropped by for a drink on my birthday and were surprised with a birthday cake and song. What a wonderful end to the day. One could stay for a week in this hotel and dine around and never get bored. The quality of food and beverage is amazing but so is the service. As the premier hotel in Hanoi, hosting heads of state and corporate tycoons one would expect nothing less. However, every member of staff has the amazing ability to make every touch point a moment of magic. It is evident that the management team under the leadership of the very experienced General Manager George K. has created a service culture that is very personal but not intrusive, very professional but not stuffy and finds the right balance of history and modernity. The hotel is a short walk away from the Hoàn Kiêm Lake and the narrow streets in the old quarter. Grab works wonderfully in Hanoi and in case it rains or it becomes too hot, just use the App to order a grab car. We tried it out for 4 days and never had a bad ride.

It was my first time traveling to Hanoi and my stay in Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel has definitely become one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. I enjoy the very friendly and personal services provided by the hotel. Louis, from Guest Relations was very helpful and friendly to me. When I first arrived at the hotel, he helped me to check in. He kindly offered me a room tour and introduced the hotel facilities to me. The hotel has some of the most hospitable staff I have ever met and Louis is definitely one of the best among them. Sofitel Hotel is the epitome of excellent service. I would definitely stay there again. I also recommend everyone who travels to Hanoi to stay in this marvellous place.

It’s been a while since my last stay at the Sofitel Metropole, and on a recent visit for a two continuous stay, I noticed a significant change in the service. In the past, I stayed away from this property due to service issues, but I’m pleased to see a positive shift. The front desk staff were notably more welcoming, with genuine smiles and a clear effort to improve guest interactions. This change did not go unnoticed and made a favorable impression on my overall experience. I hope the standards continue to improve and remain consistent. If this level of service is maintained, I would consider returning to Sofitel Metropole in the future.

I love this hotel. In a great location in Hanoi, it provides the perfect retreat after a day enjoying the sights outside. Although you feel a little guilty eating at the hotel with so much choice outside, every meal we had here was beautiful. The pool area is great, as are the rooms and the staff. Highly recommended.
