Good Basic Hotel

I was lucky to get a room as I was in Frankfurt the week of the book fair. The Ibis was available and it provides basic lodging with a great breakfast that is included in the room price. The room and bathroom are small, there is a desk, chair and bed in the room. There is free Wifi, a card key is used, and only soap is provided. The hotel is located by the river walk and the old town is about a 15 minute walk on the river path.

Very good breakfast. Good location. The only problem was the air conditioning, which didn't cool the room, and it was 30 degrees outside. It got very hot during the night. The hotel should have an ice machine available for guests because the rooms don't have a minibar, and you have to go down to the bar to request ice.

Over the past 35 years I have traveled quite frequently for business and pleasure, staying in a wide range of luxury to economy hotels worldwide and the past week was one of the best stays I have experienced, if not the best. There were inconveniences but these were very minor and very easily resolved; no 24/7 laundry/ironing service (iron and board were borrowed from reception), no in room mini safe (used my suitcase), no in room hot drink making facility (took a travel kettle and stocked up at the convenience store next door). Evening meals in bar: limited menu but looked very tasty. The pluses, however, far outweighed the minuses. My room (facing the river) was immaculate, the bed very comfortable and the shower excellent. Breakfast delicious and a lot of choices. The best feature of this hotel though, is the staff. Without exception they were efficient, welcoming and made my stay so enjoyable. A special mention to Daniel Muse (bar), Darius, Adel and Loki. You made it feel as if I were coming home after the long days at the trade fair and not many hotels achieve that. Thank you!

Worst ever hotel!

This is tge worst hotel I havw ever stayed in. The receptionist was brusque & unhelpful. No tea/ coffee in the room, the breakfadt was overpriced €18 all inclusive( I only wanted tea & toast) I rang before we arrived to check if there wad food at 9pm and was told good was 24/7. When we got there was told there was no food!

I asked upon check in to be assigned a room facing the back of the hotel, since I am a light sleeper. Unfortunately I was given a room facing the very busy city highway! Rooms and bathroom are tiny, not the standard of an Ibis Budget. Besides being given a welcome drink, poor recognition of Accor gold status
