Spent a few days in the delightful Dijon. Hotel is perfectly situated close to the centre-ville and all the transport links (tram and Train). Very spacious rooms, excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff

Dirty room & toilet

Sadly, this hotel does not meet basic standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The room I received had disgusting splatter stains along a length of wall and, even more disconcertingly, dried urine splatter on the toilet seat. Both of these contaminations were removable with a damp wash cloth, which only reinforced the impression that cleanliness and sanitation were not a priority at this establishment. I was moved to another room, but too late to correct the first impression of the hotel. The personnel were polite and the breakfast buffet was very good. Nonetheless , this hotel needs to surrender two or three stars if it offers a biohazard zone as “accommodation”. Even then, it would be unacceptable. Very disappointing.

I don't know what happened to my previous entry, but if it is lost, I want to stress how helpful your reception staff, particularly Delphine, was to me. I wanted to have flowers delivered to our hosts on Monday, the 4th of May, but due to their home's location, nobody would attempt such a delivery from either Beaune of Chalon sur Saone. Delphine really went out of her way to try to get this done but was unable to get somebody willing to roam around the hamlets of the Saone region just to deliver flowers. She called to apologize, but under the circumstances of the remoteness of the location, entirely understandable. Your entire Reception staff could not have been more helpful to me.

Amazing location, the room was great and spacious with a beautiful view. We used Dijon as a base to explore Beaune & the Route des Grand Cru, the small villages in rural Burgundy, and Alsace, and we were always happy to get back “home” at the end of the day to the Grand Hotel La Cloche. Merci beaucoup!

There were almost always lots of people waiting for one of the two small elevators. We also observed a queue for breakfast on Sunday morning, even though the restaurant team worked efficiently. The carpets in front of elevators on the room floors seemed to always have some pieces of papers or other untidy stuff
