We were in Ghent for a theatre show at NTGent Schouwburg, right across this Ibis Gent Centrum hotel. So, the location was ideal for our purposes, indeed, for any purpose connected to Ghent's old city centre. Considering the excellent location, the price is reasonable too. And if you join Accor Live Limitless, the chain's customer club, you will get a decent discount as well as preferred reservation: if the Ibis hotel of your choice is fully booked on platforms like Booking.com, it will still have rooms available for Accor Live Limitless members. The room was standard anonymous international hotel chain fare, but pleasant enough. We didn't have breakfast, so I cannot judge on that.

Great location, friendly staff

We were two friends who stayed here as part of a motorcycle journey around Europe. The hotel location is ideal and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We could not fault the quality of the service and the food was very nice. One of the main reasons we were attracted to the hotel was the availability of parking at the hotel which makes things very good for motorcyclists and it is always good to know your bike is secure. The only downside to this was the ramp from the road to the parking area was quite steep not a problem in itself but there were steps cut onto the ramp down the centre. This would be no problem for cars but meant we had to manoeuvre heavily laden motorcycles both down and up them. We are both experienced riders and this was very challenging. However we appreciate this was specific to our circumstances and other than that one point would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends or family.

The check-in experience wasn't great as the receptionist came off a bit aggressive. Given that it was a 3-star hotel, there were limited facilities available. For instance, I forgot to pack my slippers and when I asked at the reception, they didn't have any either. Additionally, the bathroom floor wasn't clean, so after taking a shower, you had to walk on a dirty surface. The bed was comfortable.

Best sleep I've had in my 2 weeks of traveling around and the best shower as well. Excellent location. This was my first Ibis stay so I'm not sure what is standard for them. Coffee or a tea kettle in the room would have been nice. Biggest issue was the bathroom floor. It was sticky. I used a Clorox wipe to clean it and turned black. The grout was filthy. You can't simply mop a floor with dirty water on grout. It collects and gets nasty over time. I advised reception and asked that it be cleaned again.
