For the price we paid for two of us including breakfast right next to the airport you couldn’t fault it. Room was small but clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was one of the broadest selections I’d seen for a buffet. Shout out to Garish and his team for putting on a great selection and great quality. I called him over to compliment him such was the impression it made. All in all a comfortable bargain.

My stay at the Ibis London Heathrow was extremely disappointing, to say the least. Most of the aspects of the residency were unsatisfactory, frustrating, or downright annoying. Commencing with a forty-minute long queue to check in, followed by no apology and a long, drawn-out check-in process, which did not help the mood. To anaesthetise the pain after the long wait to check in, I decided to partake in a drink at the bar, even though the space did not seem that inviting as it resembled a school dining room and at this time building site, I joined yet another queue, on reaching the end of the line, matters were made worse by the terrible grumpy attitude and woeful customer service from the bar team who found it impossible to say hello, let alone strike up a conversation and were so disinterested in the guest that they were borderline on being rude and arrogant, as for a thank you, forget it. It would also be dandy if they could pour a pint correctly, never seen so much wasted beer and such a large head on the pint. Could not understand why the bar did not have a television or music playing which would have assisted in drowning out the screams and noise from the kids running riot unchecked around the bar/restaurant area. It took an hour for food to arrive after ordering, the burger was poor quality from the dreadful bun to the overcooked meat patty, and the chips were soggy and few in number, appalling. Oh, and as you would expect in an airport hotel all the food and drink was exceedingly overpriced. The route to the bedroom also reminded me of my school days, bland corridors marked with years of use, stained floor coverings, etc... The room was compact, with just enough room to walk around the bed, the décor was tired and showing the usage of an age of wear and tear by previous guests, again with stained, worn-out floor coverings and curtains together with the broken wooden shelf which acted as a desk, the hairdryer also did not work as it should and so old it belonged in a museum. The heating and cooling system (not air con as the sign in the room pointed out) was inefficient and noisy, so much so that sleep whilst the system was operating was impossible. The television, again belonged in a museum it was so old, small and was missing most of the free view channels, though the Wi-Fi worked well it was still slow. The only chair in the room was a hard plastic and unpadded affair which was dreadfully uncomfortable to sit in. The best aspect of the room was the en-suite shower room which was nicely decorated and clean also benefitting from great water pressure from the shower itself. Sleep was an issue for me given the poor mattress on the bed, also being cold due to the thin duvet and not being able to turn on the heating together with, despite double or even treble glazing, the noise from taking off planes on the nearby runway. Breakfast – eat as much as you like – Buffet was dire on many levels, predominately low-quality ingredients and produce presented poorly and over-priced at £13.50 per person. A machine produced a black liquor which was labelled as coffee yet tasted like dust from the floor, the tea selection was brilliant but no sign of a teapot and nobody to ask for one. The cold buffet was limited to ‘plastic’ cheese slices, tasteless ham and cold meats, vats of non-branded low-quality cereals, and watery yoghurt pots, the toasting bread was value brand, as were the croissants, pan au chocolat and muffins which were also doughy and undercooked The ‘hot’ buffet consisted of mounds of lukewarm low-quality ingredients, cooked poorly and to be found in large vats on the counter, for example, the bacon, over one hundred rashes of streaky, extremely fatty, bacon piled into the cauldron and left to go cold, why so much bacon (which I watched being thrown in the bin halfway during my breakfast). There were also heaps of tepid scrambled ‘eggs’ enough to feed the whole hotel residents, watery cold baked beans, canned slimy mushrooms, however, no black pudding, fried eggs option, etc. In summary, breakfast was dreadful. Located on Bath Road, along with numerous other hotels, the airport is a bus ride via either the hotel hoppa bus which will take you directly from the hotel to the terminals in about twenty minutes however will charge you £6.80. Alternatively take the local TFL bus from the stop on Harlington Corner, a five-minute walk from the hotel entrance, at a cost of £1.75 per adult, taking you to the Heathrow Central Bus Station in ten minutes or less where you can connect (free of charge) to all terminals and the London Underground, including the Elizabeth Line which will take you to the heart of the city (Bond Street in the west-end in thirty minutes). The management team at the Ibis London Heathrow exhibited a lack of professionalism and customer service skills, in my experience not one of the management seeks to take ownership of issues drawn to their attention by guests, always attempting to apportion blame on another person or situation, rather than respecting resident and addressing the problem/issue at hand. They should be ashamed of the way I saw them treat other guests and other team members during my stay. Finally, I will not stay here again and urge others not to reside here either, there are finer hotels at the same price in the same neighbourhood.

Friendly staff especially Andre where nothing is too much trouble. I needed a later checkout due to a night flight the following day and he was able to assist me with this. I was also treated well by Yarica. Thanks for helping my stay go well guys 😊😊 M.

Satisfactory Budget Airport Hotel

Booked as a relatively inexpensive airport hotel to ensure we made our early flight next day. We were able to book a room with 2 x double beds which supplied what we needed as a family of 4. Hotel is a short walk from McDonalds and around a 15 min taxi ride from T4 as it is the opposite side of the airport complex.

Had a really good one night stay with my daughter prior to her early morning flight. Ate lunch and dinner there (both excellent and reasonably priced) and was very grateful that they let us check in two hours early, for no extra charge. Marty and Robert's review sums it up well, save that we did not have breakfast there, so cannot comment on those facilities
