This is an excellent hotel and a firm favourite of ours when visiting Lyon. The hotel is in a great location and is easily accessible. There are also electric chargers at the side of the hotel if you happen to have an electric car. The bar on the 8th floor offer amazing views over the city. The staff are really welcoming and friendly and always offer a really high level of service. I really recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lyon.

Friendly and helpful reception, the rooms were immaculately clean and we also enjoyed the welcome drink as well. The hotel was quite centrally located and convenient. It was easy to walk to most places as well. Enjoyed the mini bar in the room as well which was complimentary.

We were expecting the same Sofitel standards as the Heathrow one but were very disappointed.Nice location,central to the old city and by the river.Room needs renovating.Drab and ordinary,certainly not the luxury one would expect from the huge prices. Only one of three elevators were working.There was no coffee availability at 7 a.m.

We did our utmost to repair the malfunction as quickly as possible, but the repairs took longer than we would have hoped and we sincerely regret this. We offer 24-hour room service, and we sincerely regret to hear that you were unable to enjoy a coffee at 7am. Please be assured that your comments are carefully studied and shared with our teams to improve our service. Nevertheless, we are delighted that you enjoyed our ideal location in the heart of Lyon. The location is good. The female staff in reception are very friendly and helpful, less so the concierge who completely ignored me to chat with two other members of staff. Annoying. The bed wasn’t as comfortable as some of the other Sofitels I’ve stayed in. Breakfast was nice apart from the gross scrambled eggs.

Pluses: Centrally located; Rooms with view over the Rhône river; Well soundproofed and very clean rooms; 8th floor dining room with great view; Well assorted buffet breakfast; Friendly and helpful staff with special kudos to Valentin Cuq, Concierge. Minuses: Rooms in need of updating. Only one electrical outlet with no USB port; 2 out of 3 elevators out of service during our first four day stay (May 11 to 15, 2024) No soap bars available for 3 days; On our second stay (May 21 to 22) we were assigned a standard room: inside bathroom door handle fell off (promptly repaired) and air conditioning unit was not working; Hotel staff does not respond to emails nor accepted to compensate for inconvenience.
